I initially thought the thread starters were moderating their own threads which seemed somewhat okay. Then it turned out moderators are doing that.

It's just some random thing that happens. It'll stop soon enough, don't worry about it. I've got almost a thousand posts over the past year and a half and it's only happened like twice, and went away pretty quickly both times.

I think it's anti-spam stuff that does stupid shit occasionally. On other forums I only get those checks when I'm posting stuff with lots of links, here it just seems to do it at random, not noticing that I have 900+ posts and have never been warned for spam or anything.

I'm an admin and even my posts get "moderated" from time to time. It's a script error. Nothing more. Nothing less. But I find it humorous to think some of our members believe we give enough of a shit to actually monitor every post that's made. Lulz. I've got a life you know?

Even if you're not, others certainly are, that's guaranteed. And there are certainly others with nefarious intentions here, regardless of what yours may be.

My point being that it's a direct contradiction when some claim to extensively monitor the forum and everything that goes on, including researching individual members to the point where they would believe they're being stalked, plus extensively logging conversations they were not even part of, then Cavallier makes the statement that "I find it humorous to think some of our members believe we give enough of a shit to actually monitor every post that's made. Lulz. I've got a life you know?" So which is it then?

No wait actually I don't really care, this really isn't how I intend to spend my night, but some statements are just too laughably contradictory for me to resist pointing it out.

I don't want you flinging around accusations if you cannot back them up. That is all.

The administrators on this forum can only go as far as knowing your IP and the email you used to register, this is a very small pool of information to conduct any sort of stalking.

Anything else you post is in a public space is your own responsibility.

That also includes IRC, Skype and any IM program you use, as all of them have logging capability and whether they use it or not is entirely the choice of any other users. Accusing an admin who happens to log conversations of singling out you of all people to stalk for vague purposes, even though his client is probably logging all conversations he partakes in is a little too farfetched.

If you have justifiable reasons to believe you are being stalked and somebody is maliciously acting against you, I invite you to elaborate, otherwise I'd appreciate you don't spread paranoia.

Since it's rather obvious you're referring to me, I suppose I should elaborate on this.


I have never "researched" anybody unless I suspect they're a duplicate account or a previously banned member. I do, however, recall a fair bit of information that I read on the forums and on IRC, something I casually do most days. It has never required extensive effort or personal interest, my mind simply catalogues certain types of information rather well, and that's it. If anything I would say many of the older Admins are getting apathetic, rather than obsessive, as you seem to think; which is part of why we brought in new ones.

As for logging conversations, all conversations on IRC are logged and can be logged by anybody be they an Op or a normal member (I personally log everything when I'm online), if you're resourceful you can get a hold of logs when you need (or want) them, even if you aren't online there often. Sometimes I read stuff from IRC to pass time and check if anything interesting was said there (and I don't see this as any different than lurking a forum for interesting conversations or links).
This is, again, neither stalking nor personal interest, and there is no contradicton from what Cavallier said, since I think most of us put minimal concern into anything other than daily upkeep on this forum.

You'll realize we're actually pretty laid back if you don't allow yourself to get swept away in paranoia and conspiracy.

What an interesting world you live in. I assume nobody ever pays attention to me and I'm always suprised if/when it turns out I'm wrong.

I feel your pain Cogwulf as I'm the one who has been approving 90% of your posts.

I've no idea why it's happening, but the damn filter is getting every single thing you post. I'm speculating it may have to it with posting a lot after the return from an absence, possibly making the filter confuse you for a spammer, but it's just a guess.

Either way, I don't know how to fix it atm.

Hopefully it will go on its own soon. I might try changing my email, it probably won't do anything, but a lot of forums now tend to block hotmail accounts because of spam.

So maybe like:

• Backup/download your whole inbox (sent/received) then delete all of it from the forum.
• Change your account email address.
• Clear your About You, User Title, Signature, Avatar, Profile Pic... everything. o_o;

See if that works. If not, we must take extreme measures.

• Create a new account on a different computer, then see if that works. Then have the admins merge your old posts into this new account, or something.
• If that doesn't work, ...then I'm afraid the worse is true. The forum has become self-aware and it simply doesn't like you. ):

That's exactly what the Bearded Photo Thread is about and for. I don't get how your thread was distinct.

The thread does get chit-chat occasionally, all threads do, and so would yours. Besides, all the photos are already there, so it doesn't make sense to have a separate thread for the same thing, redundancy and all.



If anyone's threads seems to "disappear", it's just been merged or moved. Look under your posts and you'll find it.
