I wanted a thread to combat the sexism of the Calling all INTP women thread, but I didn't want it to be a sausage fest. Then I figured, hwy let any other dudes in at all?

That's right, just me and my hoes.

Where's my money, bitch?

I remain skeptical that such as fantastic thing as "INTP woman" actually exists.

Duh, of course not, that would be absurd.

So what's the difference?
Is there some underlying assumption here that the minds of men and women are somehow innately different, after all in cyberpace that's the only relevant factor.

I dunno I'm just accostomed to being told having gender specific expectations is wrong, that the only differences between men and women are superficial...
No skin of my nose either way, I just want to know.

(and I'm trying to derail this thread in a constructive direction :D)

You bought that BS? I'm not the kind of person to presume that people who's body chemistry are so wildly different and who's brains have been seen to have differences based on sex would have no non-superficial differences.

Even if there were no differences between the sexes, the fact that one there are a lot of and the other less so much makes some kind of divide.

Quick Yeti, come up with something so offensive it'll inspire me.

I want to get into a tussel, but this just isn't doing it for me.

Hrm... I believe that once in a while, a woman truly deserves a bitch slap. I further believe that getting bitch slapped is good for the female soul, because you can't let the hoe get out of line, and it'll humble her.

Many people need to be bitchslapped, therefore so do many women.

Try again.

Now an open challenge.

Alternative ending:

She will obtain a shotgun, blow your nuts off with bird shot and proceed to laughing maniacally at your suffering and puny exhortations for mercy. As you writhe in agony she will dial 911, throw the phone down and flee the scene only to reappear every few years to snipe you from afar with a pellet gun.

Which only goes to prove how overemotional and irrational some women are.

A single punch would have been sufficient.
Then again the phrase "you hit like a girl" comes to mind.

Why does one 'woman' making a thread, equate into all women needing the thread?
Sorry poor phrasing, why does there need to be a thread specifically for those of the female gender, to the implied exclusion of those of the male gender?

I never said anything about men not needing the occasional bitch slap. I believe they do as well. Specifying women, however, would offend people.

An extreme over-reaction. Typical. Women have no sense of proportion.

Emergence. Collectives or sets of things gain a property that's nonexistent with independent objects. This applies to humans as well. On an individual level, there shouldn't be that much difference but collective-wise, statistics and generalities are required for description. I hear there is a higher percentage of F in the female collective. I don't think that's necessarily a cultural thing...

Not NO sense just DIFFERENT sense and the word you are looking for is perspective not proportion. I actually wouldn't do any of that but it was damn fun to write it. A contingent of women over 21 have a man (or two) in their past that they secretly wish they could emasculate this way and a handful actually do it. Despite efforts to deny it, women are almost always physically weaker than men so they have to lie in wait for an opportunity to ninja strike. They hide weapons (knives, guns, poisons, gas cans, etc.) and wait for an opportunity. It seems cold and calculating but it is just a survival issue related to the risk involved in a direct attack.

No, I certainly did mean "proportion". I think it's more accurate than the other way of saying it (everyone has a perception, so it doesn't really make sense that way). Proportion, on the other hand, makes more sense, there. When a woman reacts to something, it's out of proportion to the offending whatever-it-be. When I get ranch on my food and I asked for there not to be, dang. I'll east it anyhow, and I'll enjoy it. It's simply not that big an offense in the greater scheme of things. I mean, I've had cars break down beyond operation, I've lived in squalor, I've broken a toe, I've had hair ripped off and nails ripped out, I've stepped on nails, I've had a room-mate get kicked out of my place, forcing me to pay twice the rent, I've been divorced... ranch on my taco simply isn't that big a deal. I have bigger fish to fry.

And, yes, women are weaker, in general. I'd never deny that. However, hurting someone outside of proportion to their injury unto you is still exactly that. One slap =/= permanent bodily harm.

That sounds like so much work, and so extreme. It might be easier just to run him down in a parking lot and do doughnuts over and over, like that Texan dentist a few years ago. (Then pause to refill the tank before continuing.)

It's not that I "hate" sausage, per se, it's just that I don't enjoy a sausagefest as much as you apparently do :D
False advertising! Where are the sausages??? I don't even see snausages.

Well, I you implied "bitch-slapped" on more than one occasion for no good reason here:

Hrm... I believe that once in a while, a woman truly deserves a bitch slap. I further believe that getting bitch slapped is good for the female soul, because you can't let the hoe get out of line, and it'll humble her.
The rest I agree with (although who the fuck puts ranch on a taco?).

When physical punishment is meted out arbitrarily a woman has a number of choices. She can walk away, suck it up (humbled in your words) or retaliate. I would unequivocally walk away. Many women make the mistake of popping out four kids before they realize that the guy she married is an a-hole. These are the ones with the remaining two choices. They seem to react in the extreme if they can't be broken. Why? The physical strength thing. If the guy survives he will likely serve up a punishment that =/= a bitch slap.

I walked away from an a-hole that I lived with in my early 20's. He never hit me because I left before it escalated to that level. He threatened to kill the next guy I dated and stole my vehicle. The fear was a bit much to handle even for an ice princess such as myself. I totally see why women overdo it on the violence.

Ranch dressing? LOL. I would kindly ask for a non-ranch dressing soaked taco and spend the rest of the meal obsessing over who the fuck would puts ranch on a taco. Like the other night when my husband ordered a Caesar salad the guy asked what kind of dressing. I finally decided that some dumbshit complained about getting Caesar dressing on his Caesar salad once and now they have to ask.

I'm another.

Hi.

I probably wouldn't realise what had happened for around 2 to 5 seconds. I wouldn't be able to figure out the response I should make so I would try to fade into the background and eventually leave, still trying to figure out what I should do in response to said "bitch-slap". Though why someone would "bitch-slap" me, I'll never know.

That's ok.

He probably figures that all the women that exist are the ones that hang out at the bars that he frequents. You know, the ones that actually want to get him in bed.

Gender roles vary widely cross-culturally, as such anthropologists as Margaret Mead have documented in the field. In the majority of cultures, yes, gender roles put females in the position of nurturing their Fe/Fi in order to best complete the tasks that society has deemed appropriate for them, but in cultures in which there is a reversal of roles, in which the male is nurturing and the female assumes roles that are traditionally male-dominated, this isn't the case. For example, from Mead's work Sex and Temperament in Three Primitive Societies:

"Among the Arapesh, both men and women were peaceful in temperament and neither men nor women made war... among the Mundugumor, the opposite was true: both men and women were warlike in temperament... and the Tchambuli were different from both. The men 'primped' and spent their time decorating themselves while the women worked and were the practical ones — the opposite of how it seemed in early 20th century America...."
Indeed, there are inherent predispositions to behave one way, or to rely on one cognitive function more on the other; however, temperament isn't static and one's environment and culture certainly play a role as well.

A few months ago there was actually an abortive thread on black guys; however, I remain too lazy to try to exhume said thread. Also, there are definitely differences, on the whole, between female brains and male brains which are fleshed out in numerous intelligence tests - e.g., Alan Kaufman's statistical research in the KTEA-II manual. These differences are trivial though - like women being more advanced on long term storage and retrieval tasks and worse than their male counterparts on others - and tend to balance out in terms of global intelligence. The same, unfortunately, cannot be said about races though, where we see huge and consistent disparities between, for instance, black folks and white folks or asians and native americans; and, no, I will not posit an explanation for the why.

Ahhh, I didn't know cav was female, and for some reason I assumed her gender was male (potentially because her sig says "The man with no name"), so when you said "when she least expects it," I falsely concluded that you were referring to me. If it weren't for my hastily made inference and your phrasing of "appears behind Dubious," possibly as if I were an unsuspecting target, I would've clearly seen the bitch slapping as a gift bestowed unto Cavallier.

I wouldn't dream of bitch-slapping women. I've been beaten up by men, even strangled, more times than there are days in a year. I've also been hurt by women. Given a choice between the two, I'd rather take the beating from the man.

That's what women THINK they would do. What they'd really do? Wait until their period, then take a knife, cut off his penis, and then laugh maniacally, holding the phone away from him, so he cannot even call 911. Then, when he wants to take her to court, she'll just blame it on PMT.

Know what the worst of it is? She'll get away with it.
