It's not hard to mask an ip address even if they can ban user ips.

You can appear as many times as you want, only you will eventually be ignored which is the equivalence of death on a forum.

So no, you are not immortal.

You can't permanently ban someone from a forum. Therefore it's a pointless rule and would only really affect stat-whores and the technically inept.

We're discussing it at the moment. After he announced his departure, he tried to make several new accounts that were flagged and stopped by the forum software; we thought he discovered how to use a proxy server, since the timing and claims were coincidental.

It's notable that he habitually uses a Mac OS(or gets recognized as such). The first post after his possible return shows his OS as being Windows. It's possible he's manipulating his IP address and user agent, but I'm not sure. If it seems to coincide, I guess it would make sense though.
