I'm thinking themes of "the decay of tradition" and upcoming revolution, where the old-money aristocracy has started hiring would-be-heroes, adventures, mercenaries, etc, to protect their interests, root out the dissidents and perform all manner of dubious yet well paid work. If we have two parties playing at the same time we could have the second party playing from the side of the underground revolutionaries, assisting the cause and resisting the totalitarian oppressors.
In a land on the brink of civil war whose side will the players take, who will they trust, who will they betray, and what will they do when their parties eventually come face to face?
I like the idea that there are two sides to every story.
