ENFP, INTJ, or something completely different?

My development's a bit odd as my parents are abusive and I've been depresssed for half of my life. I'm just going to start typing about whatever comes to mind.

It’s insulting when people think I do certain things because I care about them. I have never done anything for the sole purpose of making someone happy in my life. Everything I do has to do with either my morals or my goals. I have a problem with being too empathetic, and I don’t mean that in an I’m-such-a-helpful-saint way. I feel for everyone even when I shouldn’t. One of the saddest things about life is not being able to help everyone out. I’m kind of a misanthrope when it comes to people yet I still love talking to them and getting to know their stories. I love talking to others and exploring their essence. I literally have this mental list of moral/behavior rules I have to follow no matter what. They’re based entirely off of my personal feelings. I don’t believe in excuses when it comes to doing the right thing.

Nearly everything I do has to do with a 40 year goal. I don't believe in short term goals because everything adds up in the end. I want to decide things right away but I can't since I want to make the best decision possible and I always end up changing my mind. My goal in life is to become my ideal of perfection and to make my visions/fantasies a reality. I have extremely high standards for myself as they're not based off of reality.

One thing that makes me doubt me being an Ne dom is how focused on the future I am. Isn't Ne supposed to be focused on the immediate? One thing that makes me doubt me being an INTJ is how extraverted I am. A conversation a day keeps the depression away.

Ask me anything you want, I want to get to the bottom of my type. I hate leaving things open. I'm okay with getting personal.

You sound like an INTJ.

did you type that correctly?

Sorry, ILYGodney, you do not sound remotely like an INTJ. You do sound like an INFP though. Dominant Fi would be my initial guess.

Reading through this description of an INFP http://www.personalitypage.com/INFP.html there are several things that sound like you. The perfectionist. Also, that everything is as per your own morals and goals.

What do you think? does any of this sound like you?

No need to apologize. Why INFP? Hmm I do identify with the INFP description quite a bit but sometimes when I'm bored, I cause conflict for the fun of it. I usually dislike it though. I'm also not too flexible. Why introversion? Thanks for replying.

There are a vast amount of tests you can take online that'll type you, and based off those you can take their conclusions and factor them into what you think you are.

Reading your post, it's full of emotional words, not saying that us INTPs are not emotional, but we don't convey it much, or maybe I don't express it enough? Either way, take some tests, post some more, have a stork or two :storks:

I will, thanks.

Yeah, that's true. I'll definitely be doing that. All I know for sure is that I'm an Fi/Te user and an intuitive. I express a lot of my feelings but nothing really personal or important to me? I just share shallow feelings a lot IRL. I get deeper online occasional. I will, storks are great.

The OP sounds like it has some Fi in it, and ILY is probably an extrovert from the test results.

So...ENTJ is a possibility, along with ESFP and ENFP.

Is the test inaccurate usually? I'm think me being an INTJ in a slight Ni-Fi loop is possible.

I assumed I was an INTJ. I did some other tests after and got ENTJ. I had not done these types of tests in 4 years. Perhaps I did an I E flip?

It’s insulting when people think I do certain things because I care about them. I have never done anything for the sole purpose of making someone happy in my life.

That's INTJ.

Everything I do has to do with either my morals or my goals.
That's tertiary Fi.

That's Ni long-range planning.

Both Ni and INTJ. From Dario Nardi's website (INTJ related stuff):

Maximizing achievements. Drive for self-mastery. Build a vision. Very long-range strategizing. Realizing progress toward goals. Systems thinking. Talent for seeing the reasons behind things. Being on the leading edge. Maintaining independence. Find it difficult to let go in interacting with others.

You pretty much demonstrate everything above haha. @ILYGodney

Why? Oh okay, interesting. I've heard that I-E flips are very common.

Thanks for the in-depth explanation! I definitely relate to that Ni/INTJ description. I want to master life and reach my full potential.

Maybe, because of high Te and Fi. ;)

Yeah that would make sense. Also, I'm a type 3 so/sx so I might come off as a warm extravert a lot. I really like being in my inner world much more than being in the external world.

Yeah that implies introversion (obviously) and, for what it's worth, I haven't seen m/any ENFP threes haha. I've seen a few 4w3 ENFP but not threes.

I'm tempted to say ENTJ (mostly b/c of type three) but looking at Ni, Te, and Fi...yeah INTJ seems most probable. Se, which is tertiary for ENTJ, is pretty low in comparison to the big three haha. ;)

Neat site. The celebrity typings were stimulating, albeit slightly off, and the test was adaptive! Also, I'm pretty sure this is a better way to assort the types vis-a-vis Kiersey or MBTI. @Nick

My inner world gives me energy so yeah. Hmm but sometimes I get really energized by people? I'm not really living much in the world though, I retreat back to myself a lot. My tritype is 317 and 1 is a very J enneagram type so I'm most likely not a Pe dom. Yeah, same.

I had typed myself as an ENTJ before but inferior Fi? I'm pretty comfortable with Fi. I agree. Thanks for helping me out btw.

Then again, @ILYGodney, remember, don't let these tags/types identity you as a person. They're great attributes about yourself once you figure them out, what's even more important is finding out what you DON'T have, and then you can work on developing them more to become a well rounded/balanced person.

For me, finding out what I was felt like a weight was lifted, because, like many I feel as an INTP, have no idea who they really are, not fitting well in modern society, and for me, finally understanding that NOT everyone thinks like me, there are many different mindsets.

@snafupants that 25quiz site I like to give to my friends/family since it is very easy to take (short, only 2 possible questions [I personally hate those tests when there're 6 bubbles between two choices, I enjoy either yes/no 1/0], and pretty looking).

I'll try not to. I'm only using MBTI/cognitive functions to become the best person I can possibly be. I want to know my weaknesses and I want to work on them. I also want to improve my strengths. Yes, it's definitely very useful to know about. How have you developed your other functions?

I find that test really easy to understand. I feel you.

Looking at back at my old threads and yeah, I'm think either ExTJ with some weird Fi or ExFP with some amazing Te.
