What online games are we all playing these days?
Whichever game most of us are playing or want to play we can meet up in.

I'm polling some suggestions but if you want to suggest something else go ahead.

I'm not actually playing any of these right now.
But I'm up for meeting up in some online games. Would rather something lighter, though. Left4Dead 2, maybe? I do that one with some guys in work sometimes. I'm open to suggestions.

Let's do Minecraft or Factorio or something. I don't really play them but they sound like the best options.

I would like to do a INTP minecraft server, build ourselves a castle or some such.

Co-op action games tend to become vitriolic if people take it too seriously.

The only games on my laptop right now are Civ5 and Terraria.

I also have friends pressuring me to get Left 4 Dead 2, so whenever it's cheap on steam again I'll probably get it.

Diablo 2 is the only game I've ever played in my entire life. It's bretty cool. Otherwise I'm lacking some necessary essentials for being a gamer, like a trench coat, fedora, doritos, mountain dew, obesity, etc.

I don't have a trench coat and am not obese. I do have my baby here, though, which I made myself. She can play anything on Steam and doesn't do as much as she used to the days. Wouldn't mind a little action.

I honestly never saw the appeal of playing online..
How do you not get annoyed by the other people just being there doing their annoying people thing?

Don't get annoyed. Just be entertained by other people getting annoyed.

I'll be back to gaming online next March. Arma 3, DayZ, Squad, Counterstrike and Space Engineers are probably going to consume a lot of my spare time

There is a thread for that that I made. Would be interesting to see what you got underneath the hood.

I might be interested in doing some ME:A online stuff, when it comes out.

It has Z97, a 4670k with copper elemental cooling, 16gb of DDR3, an O/C'd 960, 480gb SSD, 3tb of HDD, 300mbs WiFi and I'm using a 24 inch 1080, plus a fairly basic gaming mouse and keyboard with variable sensitivity. All 3 of those fans are variable speed, and for just because it looked cool I added a few strips of lighting and a holographic dragon to the case (it's hard to see that from the picture, but I assure you it does look cool.)

I know these days everyone will say my 960 is outdated, but it's never given me less than 60fps with any game, even on the highest texture settings.

Nice. I saw the dragon, it looks pretty cool not going to lie. You have a good setup.. How are you liking the 960? What is the base clock on it and what do you have it at now?

It's running at 1177MHz right now. I used to have a 750ti with a VGA monitor until upgraded in May, so obviously it's a huge improvement. I find it plays anything at 60fps or better and the textures are usually really good. Personally, I love it. I keep getting tempted by adds for 1060's, but I just see the value of such an investment.

What sort of setup are you using? To me, it's like the way some guys open the hood nosing at the engine of their car.

Do you have a degree in mathematics?
Part of one, actually. First year. And psychology.
But I did the full thing in computer science and English writing.

i7-4770K, 32GB RAM, 2x GTX780 in SLI.
I wanted three but I couldn't find a suitable motherboard at the time.

My mouse is a Corsair M65, the sniper button is awesome in War Thunder dogfights, gives me roughly 200m of extra precision (i.e. when the marker needs to be dead on target to hit anything) which I exploit to the fullest using interceptor fighters and boom'n'zoom tactics.

When I catch someone off guard it takes them about a second or two to respond, by which time I've either killed or disabled them and buzz by at 600kmph. By the time they regain the presence of mind to turn back and fire at me I'm well beyond the 500m mark, even if they miraculously hit me at that range and relative velocity the 12mm rounds just bounce off.

I'm usually killed when I get cocky and try to head-on someone with more firepower and armor (it works sometimes, they don't expect it from an interceptor) or lose too much altitude/momentum in consecutive attack runs and get stuck on the deck where my plane is easy prey.

Lol - it sounds more impressive than it is. I couldn't decide what to do, so kept my options open. And instead of specialising, I did a half ass job of two different subjects. I ended up in a job that barely utilises half my brain.

And I'm not that smart. I can barely scratch 135 in a proper IQ test. Not exactly Steven Hawking.

And Cogs - lush. My son and I have matching 960's which I got with the intention of running then in SLI instead of upgrading later. But the darn things are so big they don't fit in either case.

He also has the Corsair M40 K40 (I think, or possibly 30 - can't remember) Keyboard and Mouse. Gives him quite an edge over his friends who keep accusing him of cheating.

That new microsoft game (what's it called again, I'm blanking?) is basically the same thing anyways, just stick with that.

Quantum Break?

And what am I doing on this forum? Mostly I'm just bored and looking to speak to people who aren't actually capable of intellectual discussion that the few humans I speak to are often not. Except for one, but coz we work together we got told to cut it out when we were having this lively debate over the sound a giant spider would make. Not whether it was possible or how horrible it would be - just the sound.

And BTW - while I'm up for it, my online gaming skills are not as impressive as they used to be. I don't get to do much and usually don't play online - I'm more and interesting single player campaign kind of player. I'd probably embarrass the team - but I usually get the hang of it after a little while.

My expectations of this lot are far, FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR lower.

Indeed if I start a Minecraft server I will guarantee the first thing every INTP that joins will do is IMMEDIATELY try to hide from everyone else.

This is why I suggested a nice simple co-op game like Left 4 Dead 2. It's fun, simple and not too hard. Plus, great team work building.

I've been playing warframe actually. As much as I like them, intense competitive games aren't good for my shoulder right now but warframe seems to be something I can do without falling apart. Also without my.... Laptop falling apart. Now it is a custom laptop but it's not a gaming laptop and it's a laptop.

Cog who do you Boom and Zoom as? For a minute I thought you were doing it IN a corsair not with one.

The YAK-1 and the LaGG-3-8 and by "boom'n'zoom" I mean dropping down from a higher altitude to do a fly-by on relatively slower planes, I've also got an I-153-M62, a MiG-3-34 and the I-16 type 27. The YAK, MiG and LaGG are all great fun as long as you have the discipline to stick to a hit-and-run strategy, in a dogfight practically everything else is tougher and more maneuverable.

There's talk of the Russian interceptors being OP but really their speed lets them dictate fights, when I'm on an attack run I don't want someone lining me up as I buzz by so I pick fighters that are on the edges of the pack or have (stupidly) strayed from it entirely. So of course when I'm attacking someone who usually has no idea I'm bearing down on them and likely wont be able to retaliate afterwards the only time I'm going to get shot down is when I make a mistake.

The price for this is that boom'n'zoomers don't have as much presence on the battlefield as deck fighters and when the mission is decided by whichever team provides the best ground-support a mostly Russian interceptor team has to wipe out the enemy team (no easy feat) or are practically guaranteed to lose.

Hmm, that's interesting back when I played I thought the Germans were the primary bnz. The Yak and Lagg were constantly talked about as being good I just didn't realise that was also their role.

Anyone else tried the new Space Hulk on Steam? I tried it today - it's a lot of fun and has a 3 way coop mode that I'm told is really good.

I think I'm Jennywocky on Steam. (Yeah, I know, not creative.) I'm not sure what I have loaded multiplayer wise, although I know I have Left 4 Dead 2 and maybe Team Fortress 2 (?).
