Is anyone else buying it (or have bought it)?
I am playing it, as of writing this, not a bad game, its similar to re4, except you are paired up with a partner now. I have not completed re4, so I can not really compare it to re5, but I have about a quarter of the game left to progress through.
Sheva is not too bad, shes pretty good at carrying ammo, acting as bait and shooting. Zombie bait, is always good to have on your handsIt is similar to RE4, and I enjoying it. The AI of Sheva annoys me, but this is easily resolved with an appropriate partner online.
It would be much better on the pc, if they do correct the controls, the controls are quite odd, but none the less, its not too bad of a game.Shoot, I it will not let me edit my mistype. What I ment to say was that I have not purchased RE5 yet.
I finished it yesterday;
pro's
very solid plot, some decently challenging groups of enemies, alot of unlockables and replay value(even more so then full edition re4), some really fun weapons, and a real survival horror feeling that I've missed in most of the zombie games as of late.
con's
Sheva's AI is really annoying, mainly because she hasnt been programmed to recognize your in the way of her shot(doesnt do damage, but she pisses all your ammo away)
Also, if you give her the stun rod to hold, she will equip it, and then proceed to do absolutely nothing.
Solved with a friend or online.
a few glitchs.
INCREDIBLY disappointing bosses. This is my only true complaint, but its kind of a big one.
No reapearance from the merchant! *tear*
slighty slugish controls, but not bad enough to subtract from the overall game.
Only about 1 scary "encounter" or what ever you may call it. This is my other big complaint.
The regenorators, iron madiens, crazy bugs, and awsome night scenes made some decently spooky parts in re4, but they are sadly absent in re5.
Overall, worth the buy for the awsome plot, replayability, and "survival" feeling of the game.
Not quite as good as Re4, but enjoyable.
I hope Re6 will keep the good things from re5 and 4, and get back to the "horror" aspect of survival horror, because re5 nailed the survival part.
