Auburn,
Thanks! Yeah, that's been my recent dilemma. I suspect that I use Ne-Si, but recently thought maybe it was Se-Ni instead. There lies the difficulty... I will check the thread you posted.
I definitely feel my writing has an Ne vibe to it, with the rambling and changing directions...
Thanks guys.
Of course, every test is flawed. And even if it's a really good test, the results are going to depend so much on personal circumstances (mood, etc), so tests are not really going to (necessarily) yield consistent or accurate results. That's why I started learning about the...
Dunno if any of you remember me, but I was here last year for a little while. My interest in type waned for awhile, but I recently became re-interested. I am now somewhat confused about my type. I joined personality cafe, and one of the posters there suggested that I consider ISTP, which I...
Read The Underground History of American Education by John Taylor Gatto. (Available on his website for free here).
It's not perfectly written, and sometimes he meanders around not making a real point for awhile, but overall it really helps you look at the school system from a different...
Ok, I understand now. So in my case, I tend to do things for the action, rather than introspection. Often introspection will happen naturally, but I don't set out for that purpose.
I'm still a bit hazy about this, can you elaborate? I do feel fairly detached from my inner self... in some...
That's really interesting, thanks for posting it.
I had no idea my Si and Se were so strong, they feel oddly natural for me (although I know I couldn't keep them up for very long periods of time). I knew Ne and Ti were going to be at the top, and this confirms it (they are extremely natural...
I think I am probably a lot like you in that respect (I test about 50/50 on I/E). Both my parents (and my brother) are introverts, and they may have stifled some of my tendency towards extroversion (read: making fun of/punishing me for talking all the time/at "inappropriate" times).
Also...
That test was fun!
Free-wheeling Creator.
Maybe I'm ENTP after all.......
About you:
You are a Creator
Your imagination, confidence, willingness to explore, and appreciation of beauty make you a CREATOR.
You are independent, and you enjoy your self-sufficiency.
Defying...
You may be on to something. Perhaps society encourages extroversion, and we learn to cope by being more E than we would have been?
I don't think this is true in my case (I've always gotten into trouble for talking in class, since preschool. Seems like slight extroversion has been quite...
All this talk about feeling drained around people makes me think I may be and introverted E after all (because I don't really, unless it's every day/night). And I don't think I've ever felt bad about babbling on and on to people. I'm starting to see this (feeling badly about babbling/being...
Oh man, me too. I also have about 4 functions that are very close--Ti, Fi, Ne, Ni, sometimes Se (depending on the test). It really is like war sometimes... o.O
Re: $$$$ INTP team role $$$$
Ok. I tried this test before and got slightly different results. Apparently I'm in a bit more of an I mood today. *shrug*
INTP 84%
INFP 84%
INFJ 78%
INTJ 78%
ENTP 72%
ENFP 72%
ISTP 65%
ISFP 65%
Last time INTP, INFP, ENTP, and ENFP were almost the same, with...
Ah, those tests probably rank you as introverted because 3 of the top 4 processes are introverted. Is it accurate? Do you feel more E or I?
I think I might be more I, but I know I'm not as introverted as most introverts, and I also I know I'm not as extroverted as most extroverts. I do...
I feel your pain (well, confusion).
Some days I feel more extroverted than others. Lately I've been a bit more I leaning, but that partly is because of the weather, I think (it's been raining for the last 2 weeks straight it seems...). I think some of us don't fit in to any of the categories...
This.
There are some moments I can recall with perfect clarity from early childhood that I shock people that I know. Conversations (that I have paid attention to anyway) I tend to remember very well. I remember a lot of things other people don't, but then again, I don't remember a lot of...
Just thought of this: I realize that I do sometimes think in printed word, but not really in words, but in numbers or symbols. Like manipulating an equation or adding/subtracting in my head. Or sometimes when trying to recall words on a page.
Ahh Chocolate, your job sounds amazing. I would love to be a professor of Math or Physics (or both). Or study the stars and the planets... there would always something to discover. Although teaching and research are hand in hand, fortunately! Maybe one day... after lots more school... :(...
I second your hopes Noddy and QSR. I think it's possible, but I'm not too sure how probable. Unfortunately the masses probably don't want to think too hard in the theaters. :/
Good luck, XIII. For what it's worth I've always found your posts to be extremely interesting (like a puzzle I couldn't quite understand), although have never personally responded. I do hope you get to where you need to be.
I feel a sense of honesty and vulnerability in this post that I...
My thoughts range from vocal to pictures to..... intangible formless ideas... I'm not quite sure how to explain those, but I will try.
Typically when I am thinking about things that are concrete, I use a combination of words and pictures. If I am thinking of how I am going to say...
It depends almost entirely on the specific crowd for me (oh, and sometimes my mood).
I like party type crowds when:
There are at least a handful of fairly close friends attending
The people I don't know have a high probability of being interesting/quirky/smart
Stimulating conversation is...
Saw it Sunday, and honestly I was expecting a lot worse (I tend to try not to get my hopes up for movies for this very reason). I probably won't watch it again, but it was somewhat entertaining (unlike Wolverine which my b/f dragged me to last weekend... blech--talk about a generic action...
I just hope they don't overly "Hollywood-ize" the movie. There was a certain charm to the low budget special effects (not to mention the inability to completely rely on them to keep the audience entertained...). I guess I will find out this weekend.
I don't think the new cast really looks...
It could be. It makes perfect sense... you probably spend more time thinking (in Ti land) than typical ENTPs, which would probably make you more introverted. On the other hand, for Ermine and I, and other Ne dominant INTPs, probably spend more time exercising our Ne more than other typical...
I'd be a 5-7w9 if such a pairing were by the "rules". I identified with both 5 and 7 strongly, and 9 to a good extent... and not too much with 4, but moreso than 6. Or maybe I'm just a stressed out 5. ;)
Otherwise 5w4 seems most likely, although not too terribly accurate.
Feel the love... :D
Man, I feel bad leaving out some of my favorites... I guess I was focusing on newer material? Some old greats I love: King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa.
Yeah, Ne is most definitely how I socialize. I think the key for me is comfort level as well (and my mood). Even in certain groups where I don't know everyone, where the people tend to be more like minded, and more open to new experiences (so basically, not SJ's :P) I tend to relax around them...
If I had everything I (think I) wanted I don't think I'd be happy... Part of being happy, for me, is knowing that there's more out there, more to discover, more to be...nothing is stagnant, nothing is constant. I fully expect to never really know what I want, but at the same time, I expect to...
I relate to this completely. I am probably XNXP, but for simplicity I just go with INTP and call it a day. There's no need to pigeonhole yourself into one category or another, although I do enjoy learning about all the different tests and types, and learning as much as I can about myself...
Ermine,
I remember now that it was mentioned before (don't remember which thread) that the way your introversion/extroversion is determined is by looking at the top several functions, and whether more of them are introverted or extroverted. I'm pretty sure I'm somewhat introverted, but...
New test results in using this test. Don't know which I trust more. (The previous results came from this test.)
Ne - 45.4 (excellent)
Ti - 37.3 (excellent)
Ni - 34 (good)
Fi - 33.1 (good)
Te - 24.9 (avg)
Si - 22.9 (limited)
Se - 22 (limited)
Fe - 21 (limited)
By focusing on the...
Re: Face is...
I find this amusing.
fa⋅ce⋅tious
/fəˈsiʃəs/ [fuh-see-shuhs]
–adjective
1. not meant to be taken seriously or literally: a facetious remark.
2. amusing; humorous.
3. lacking serious intent; concerned with something nonessential, amusing, or frivolous: a facetious...
meshram,
It really depends on the company. There are tech companies out there that are so worried about policies and procedures, that the tedious boredom would be torture... On the other hand, there are companies (especially if you are doing software) that don't have as many set schedules...
******************* Ti
*************** Fi, Ne
************* Ni
************ Se
***** Fe
**** Si
**** Te
(Last 3 are pretty pathetic!)
I guess that makes me a prancing chocolate cheese cow, too.
Gotcha. You're probably N then.
I'm actually quite good with my hands/tools also. I danced ballet for many years, and that definitely required dexterity (more with feet rather than hands, but same sort of thing) and perception of space/time (typically a sensing thing). I think it really...
