Soo... since this science is probably the holy grail of "music modification":

What are your thoughts on this ?

Personally I only have found "iZotope RX 7" and "Zynaptic" toolsets to be usable
(others, suchas "Phonicmind" etc" seem to do a horrible job at best, let alone the "popular" center channel extraction via Audacity that people deem usable)

What do you mean by music modification?
What music do you modify and why, what do you make out of it?

Imagine a genral track, voice, instruments, drums

Now imagine if you could strip these parts apart and put them into seperate tracks.

That is - in essence - what stem seperation is all about.

Back in the days instrumentals were center panned, hence easing the process of creating vocal only / instrumental only tracks.
No more nowadays..

As for usage:
Voice extraction () Karaoke, unreleased soundtracks (grrr), music to reuse etc etc.
The possiblities are endless.

So are the (numerous attempts) that yield different results aswell:

Could this be used for say filtering out the sound of wind blowing through the trees on a windy day and other kinds of background noise? It would be nice to have something like noise cancelling headphones that block out background noise so you can focus on more important sounds.
