Im such an esfj

I hope no one gets offended by the description. All things pertaining to human survival lesser types are always important as well for overall survival of human species. Such as esfjs that are good cannon fodder. There needs to be plenty.

INTJ?

Lol. I tested INTJ recently. I'm INTx.

The main thing that changed: I've been taking my life more seriously in every regard. I minimize gratification. I accept who I am despite societal norms that tell me I'm wrong to be who I am.

@ZenRaiden How does your conclusion still apply if we are far less likely to want to reproduce -and- we represent a tiny portion of the population? It doesn't seem beneficial to be rare if our natural state/personality, when around the average person, makes us unable to enjoy being ourselves as we normally are and constantly at risk for being ostracized. It would benefit your argument to elaborate beyond horoscope style descriptions and without the tone of distaste in describing ESTJs.

Sounds like Fi preference?

I have a question. How aware are you of the emotional (psychological) atmosphere? INTJs tend to be in large oblivious to the psychological atmosphere and will not attempt to accommodate to it, they dot not put others at ease, while INTPs are aware and will try to. Fi vs Fe.

Since the INTP is aware of other people's emotional states and the psychological atmosphere.. this becomes a problem due to terrible Fe and their lack of ability is this area as well as Ti preference for accuracy. You get situations where the INTP will refuse to comment because it will upset the ppl around him/her... e_e INTJs tho will just do it, they are like a bull in a china shop due to a lack of awareness.

I am emotionally/psychologically aware, yet I have been made aware that I'm "intimidating" and even "weird". I do not seem to put others at ease.

Conclusion: INTPs are the most evolved type of personality.

Evolution occurs over 100s of thousands of years, the best property linked to homo-sapiens has been the idea we propegate ideas that are abstractions of reality: this suggests that while neanderthals had a higher cubic volume in the brain and were more muscular and resillient as the environment was harsher, they should've been the main hominid species right now.

However, they aren't, and that has been largely attributed to them possibly worshipping corporeal beings with jewellery and possibly not being able to worship pure abstractions, like god. There is some evidence for this but I will admit it's not definitive, but basically the greatest thing that distinguishes us from other animals is ideas about everything: Religious sytems, mathematical systems, moral systems and so on: these ideas are pure abstractions that are expressed in the world through scenarios.

The reason why like 8 billion people can live in relative peace is because we have meta-narratives in our head of what a religion is, a nation and so on. In that respect, not socialising for survival purposes means there is little to suggest an core-evolutionary reason why INTPs exist. Evolution isn't complex, it is mediated through natural selection. It does not decide "let's give them wings", every progeny expresses genetic mutation and if the animals with this genetic find utility from the mutation, they will have a better chance of surviving to propegate and spread the gene. Signs of civilization has only been around for 7000 years after all

An introvert keeps most of their ideas to themselves, kinda a bummer for co-dependent evolution.

:p not true in my case. I use ppl to test my ideas, always hungry for someone to tear my ideas to shreds and show me a superior way, a better perspective, method, idea. Its kind of how I go through existing ideas and discard the trash. I find capable ppl and just talk with them :P sometimes it takes... a bit of edgy trolling and outright glove in the face challange. I never fell like my idea is good enouugh until it's been through rigurous testing, rethinking, reevaluatrion and updates.

Doing all that alone is boring and I may end up doubting the results. The problem tends to be that ppl have nothing to add or get intimidated too easily. :/ it rly sucks...

e_e there are situations where I'll shut up about my thoughts, but its usually because I already know the other person will get me into trouble if i voice any of it..

I mean I used people as a soundboard for more ideas, but as your ideas become heavily knowledge based there's less incidence you can use individuals as soundboards. So you either have to find people that are good with abstractions or ones that can learn models quickly. I express a lot less ideas in person that I used to, being aware of that I'm trying to shift this model of experimentation to internet forums, like this one here.

After reading this topic, out of curiosity I took a test again on 16personalities. This time I got ESFJ-A, with the percentage distributions all in the 40%~60% range.

I guess I'm a short-sighted retard ape, who's unreasonable and unstable and preachy, but also a masturbator and a narrow minded robot.

...

If you think of it, that's actually the modern man.

The test is flawed. It depends on how you see yourself. Its total garbage :S and only reflects your self-awareness. :P I'd never base my type on an MBTI test, paid for or otherwise. The big 5 has the same issue.

Thats partially why I'm here.

All self-administered tests are flawed by that logic, that doesn't imply the evaluation is wrong given the correct inputs. If you put a decent amount of time understanding who you are and strive for authenticity I don't see why you would not be honest in a test like this one. Very little to gain if you're lying, a nice analysis of the typical behaviour you exhibit if you tell the truth. I get INTJ/INTP, I think the judgement function is more practical but the Prospective function gives me more creativity. I think I flip my behaviour to suit the task I'm doing, after all personalities are systems that you can emulate if you understand it.

Personally I have always favored an evaluation based on socionics dichotomies and functional analysis.. Keep rotating the "picture" and slowly over time fill it out with info till a clear type pattern emerges.

I imagine if I was ESF, it wouldn't have taken years of my mental energy to figure out and practice culturally accepted social behavior, but, who knows, ESFs may very well experience problems that are solved by traits that are more common to INTs, and vice versa.

I would choose to be ESFx any day of the week if I could. I imagine I'd naturally bond socially much more and be -happy- much more often.

When you know what you are clearly -not- it also becomes apparent that what is left is what you are.

There is some saying going around that "You are what you do", yet you are also what you do not do.

Lol. My father is also ESFJ. He is and has been, contrary to some stereotypes, highly intelligent, highly stable, and very, very responsible in planning.

With an IQ test I got INTJ for profiling purposes, INTP for 16 personalities and INFJ when I was younger (probably the hormones tho).

We seek what we lack: I ultimately think INTP is the best native type to have as the prospective function, combined with Intuitive thinking, Thinking > Feeling and Introversion really allow you to think of all personality types and what they offer to the individual. I'm very aware of my pitfalls and how to nurture myself to replace these pitfalls for competency, but that's because I'm constantly evaluating the systems I put into place to check if they're efficient for the goals I'm pursuing. I can't imagine other personality types having the same ability to dissect and adapt systems that are not in their nature.

I think of all personaltiy types, INTP/J offers the best ability to assess your goals and the changes needed to necessitate those goals.

I wasn't a happy kid, but instead of not being happy I thought of many aspects that contribute to happiness and adopted them. I'm generally a very happy guy with these systems in place, the only thing that throws me off is drinking alcohol, it drains me of energy to focus on goals that improve my happiness.

Oh haha, I see. Typology to me, isn't something that's set. I also affirmed myself as INTP, (and interestingly INTj on socionics myself), but over time and phases and experiences, it seems like the types change. Types to me more are descriptions of circumstance rather than a set personality.

I think I used to have a log of all the results I would get from all the test I've taken, both on the internet and irl, (dunno where is it now), but it seems like it's better to understand typology in terms of shades of types rather than a rigid set of descriptions.
