Software that helps you stay on task to learn a new skill.
I am interested in learning some new skills for example and need something to help me stay on task.
Every Sunday, find time to use towards studying some skill, such as art classes, or other skill building.
Carve out 20-40 hours per week and put them on your calendar.
Google Calendar: https://calendar.google.com
https://todoist.com - Where you put your tasks, appointments, class schedule times, etc to keep yourself on track.
Prioritize as what is the most important task, ie, Priority 1, 2 or 3 for example. There are 168 hours per week. 40 of those may be to work. 56 of those are to sleep. So of the 72 remaining hours, you select each Sunday night around your other obligations when you HAVE to study or complete tasks in building your skills toward whatever you are learning. Actually type out the time blocks on your todoist page and stick to your schedule. Devote to it week after week after week so you give yourself time to build your new skills and develop your art. It might be every day at 3pm, you spend from 3 to 8 working at it, just as an example where you do not allow other interuptions.
And, use Apple 'FOCUS' feature which keeps the 'do not disturb' feature on while you are studying.
If you are a procrastinator, the 'Eat the Frog' method is best for productivity, ie, do the most unpleasant task first.
