So the wife and I got a short 4-day course on C (which I think is the granddaddy of all programming languages) and was quite hooked. Should've taken programming when I was younger but my teacher said it's never too late.

Our teacher recommended that I study more advanced languages such as C++, C# and Python. The C languages modules cost money and I can learn Python over the net so I went for the latter.

I've downloaded the Jupyter application since it covers two languages that I'm interested in learning: Python and R.

Any cool communities to join for these languages?

Thanks Serac!

Is the R/Python combo a good start for R&D programming?
Pretty much a killer combo, right there. Python is more general-purpose, R is more specialized towards statistics and data.

Yes, r/Python is what I will be focusing on next. I hate that I'm so shit at using it, so I need to do a proper course.
