Some INTPs are too INTP

I enjoy the company of other INTPs very much. It reminds me that we are all the byproduct of certain chemical, genetic, and in great part, social constructs. And that maybe I'm not so weird after all. Because, as INTPs go, I'm admittedly not so weird.

In fact, compared to other INTPs, one might even say I'm empathetic (lol). And while I admire the shcizoid (generaly 5w6) INTPs for their robotic and blissful aloofness, I sometimes find that these INTPs bother the shit out of me.

It's almost like some INTPs, when around other INTPs, have to prove that they're the most INTP-ish INTP. But I know that an INTP wouldn't care about that, so it must be that they are so INTP that they are just pissed off at the world (or maybe they're just mistyped INTJs). Then again, maybe that is how non-INTPs see me.

Regardless, I find that some INTPs are too INTP for their own good. Sometimes (god forbid) we have to interact with other hominids. So from a purely logical point of view, it's advantageous to purposely develop your Fe and maybe learn some social skills.

I'm rambling, but does anyone else feel this way? Sometimes we INTPs can be full of shit. We build a wall of snarkiness to protect our fragile egos from the touch of mutual understanding. Maybe sometimes it's okay to just be a person. :kodama1:

MBTI is rife with people looking for an identity to cling to. Even for long time adherents, some think it best to specialise in what you're good at, at the cost of flexibility. Often this means try-harding for perceived intellect points.

I think it can be good for people to identify with a type, but it can easily be taken too far.

Isn't the whole point of MBTI to learn about what you are to improve yourself in your weaker areas? Seems kind of counterproductive to just stick to reductionist stereotypes of yourself at the cost of self-improvement.
