Is now out on xbox live marked place, wii's counterpart and on mac/pc. I bought it from xbox live 4 days ago and haven't done anything but played that shit since. There is one question you need to ask yourself before buying it; do you like platformers? Yes? Then you should get it now. This game is really hard, but don't worry, the difficulty level is gradually increased so you don't get that "how the hell is this shit even possible?!?!" feeling all that often. The main "story" consists of around 150 maps and they are mostly really manageable difficulty wise.. however, there is a "dark world" version of every map, which is basically a hardcore version of the "light world" version. In addition to the dark world levels you also have a bunch of extra levels that are hidden around various levels called "warp zones". Completing these will unlock new characters with different attributes like the ability to double jump and the likes. All in all, there is probably around 350 levels and a bunch of replayability.

Like any good platformer (think super mario and the likes) the controls are great.. and they really must be to make you able to finish some of the more difficult levels which requires chirurgical precision to complete. The game is really rewarding though and things that seemed impossible at first will suddenly feel like a breeze. On my 3d play through in the "light world" for example, it only took me 1 hour to complete, something that, on the first play through, probably took me closer to 6-7 hours.

The music in this game is great, and coupled with the almost instant respawn time makes it all the less frustrating after you have seen your body being splattered on the same spikes for the 150th time. As a bonus, when you have completed a level, all your attempts will be shown simultaneously so you can sit and watch all those Meat Boy's being wasted.

In short, this is the greatest platformer I have ever played and I encourage anyone remotely interested in the genre to get this ASAP!

If any of you already have played it, I just finished getting "the kid" from "I wanna be the guy"! One of the most difficult levels I have played this far. The dark world versions of the last maps is super mario in comparison.

I'd been hearing about this game for a long time, but didn't know what the big deal was. Having just downloaded and played it for about an hour, it is terribly fun and addictive. Definitely one of the best platformers I've played (Braid was pretty good too though). I love the fast-pacedness of it, and some of the level design is diabolically clever.

I'm scared to see how much harder these levels are gonna get. Right now I'm on the Ch. 2 boss. I had to put it down for a while cause otherwise I'm not gonna get anything done today. This is actually good enough to compete with Fallout.

How far have you come now?
If your just aiming for the last boss in light world, it's really manageable. If you want to achieve the same thing in dark world, it's a little bit trickier. If you want to 100% the game, you'll be in for a really tough ride:P

I quit playing about a week ago... for now. This is definitely one of the best 2D games I've ever played, and also one of the best games I've played this year (not just 2D or arcade games).

I've unlocked all the light worlds and three of the dark worlds, beaten 6 1/2 of the light worlds and 2 1/2 of the dark ones. The only one I haven't played is "The Internet," since I wasn't online at the time. I'm somewhat stuck in dark world 3 and Bandage Girl's light world. Pretty sure I won't be able to finish the dark worlds, but I'm not through with this game by a long shot.

I actually think I need to unlock the character from Braid to beat one of the levels I'm stuck on. I just can't seem to run past this circular saw blade quite fast enough, and I'm guessing he has some kind of time manipulation/slow-down power that would allow me to do it. If not, it must just require my timing to be perfect, but after trying for a while I figured I must just be doing the wrong thing.

The only thing you need the guy from Braid for is to get some of the bandages.. not to complete any level, I don't think.
Haven't played in a while either, however, I came pretty far and I'm sure I'll 100% it one day. So far I have completed every light world, every dark world (including the last boss), got my hands on all the 100 bandages and got all the characters (with exception of the last one you get when you 100% it). The only thing I haven't done, I think, is completing the cotton world in light and dark world.

Yeah, I'm cool:rolleyes:

Yeah, you're definitely better at this than I am.

IIRC the most ridiculously difficult part so far was the dark-world version of the level where you're in the box, with the four spinning blades continually going around the box (somewhere in Ch. 3 I think). Getting through the box to the outside is no problem, but then at the bottom you have to wait for a blade to go by, run through the gap and drop down before the next blade kills you. It seemed so hopeless I figured I needed some kind of time-powers to slow the blade down. I've been playing the levels in order though - I probably could have just skipped that one and finished a bunch of others before getting stuck again.

I forgot what it was in Bandage Girl's world that gave me so much trouble.

Hmm, I can't remember having too much problems with that one. In any case, if you find that difficult, you have much to look forward to:evil:

One of the most difficult levels are the levels you go through to unlock the kid from "I wanna be the guy" imo. I get sick just from thinking about it, lol
