Taxi Driving: Good work for INTP's

I am an INTP and had never been able to keep a job for more than 5 months. I was usually more intelligent than my superiors, but after an initial burst of inspiration and good work, I would inevitably end up coming in later and later to work and falling into laziness and inertia.

Then I got into Taxi Driving.

There is a variety of experiences and situations which keeps me interested. I have many subjects of all types upon which to analyze the universe and its patterns. If I don't show up on any given day, it's no big deal. I work when I want and am able to make enough money to survive, with the flexibility us INTP's need.

If you have a passion for gaining an understanding of the universe and enjoy life or death situations, I would highly recommend it!

Does anyone know of any other good INTP jobs that don't require a college degree?

i would advice you to suggest you can solve their problems. dont want to say you'll kill for money. too obvious.

i'm planning on getting my cdl this summer and hopefully start driving school buses in the fall. I never thought about taxi driving but it sounds like something I'd like to do. Although I do like the challenge of organizing and managing an auto repair shop, I'd love the freedom of driving.

Driving is great freedom. I thought about getting a CDL once, but didn't have the money. Main thing to worry about is variety. It might get too routine if you have the same route everyday. Also, long haul trucking would sometimes be difficult unless you could keep a very creatively stocked Ipod.

i delivered fireworks this summer in a 24' box truck. being on the road and being in charge of your own day is very enjoyable.
