Seriously, ZOE2 is probably the best mecha game ever. I got it years ago, probably when I was 8 and probably explains my love of mechas. The gameplay is simple and intuitive, yet when you get into the higher difficulties you realise that there is a lot of depth in it. The graphics are unbelievable for a PS2 game, the battles are huge (for a PS2,) there are a lot of hidden extras and many extra mode in addition to the main campaign mode. Above all the game is made of the highest quality with great attention to detail and perfect translation (even in French
,) I can safely say that there isn't any problems with the game. The camera is the only thing which I wouldn't count as 100% good, but at the extreme speeds of the combat (especially in latter stages when you have teleportation,) I think thats the best they could do. Although you have a default auto-lock which fixes camera issues anyways.
The ZOE universe is probably the most serious/adult mecha universe (Neon genesis is the only real contender for this title.) The super mechas, called Orbital Frames are just so sleek, have awesome colours and in general completely kick ass. Anubis is just an unbelievably cool mecha and its a pleasure looking at it in battles against it
