So there was this cool thread about posting your theme song and it got deleted as the server went mad. Erm, let's revive it. I think it was rather cool.

"Kill The Poor"

Efficiency and progress is ours once more
Now that we have the Neutron bomb
It's nice and quick and clean and gets things done
Away with excess enemy
But no less value to property
No sense in war but perfect sense at home:

The sun beams down on a brand new day
No more welfare tax to pay
Unsightly slums gone up in flashing light
Jobless millions whisked away
At last we have more room to play
All systems go to kill the poor tonight

Gonna
Kill kill kill kill Kill the poor:Tonight

Behold the sparkle of champagne
The crime rate's gone
Feel free again
O' life's a dream with you, Miss Lily White
Jane Fonda on the screen today
Convinced the liberals it's okay
So let's get dressed and dance away the night

While they:
Kill kill kill kill Kill the poor:Tonight

This is really, really, hard. There are so many songs I identify with, but a theme song needs to present the entirety of who you are, right? I feel weird choosing a song I've found in the past couple weeks because I might change.. but no other song sums me up.

YouTube - edIT- Dex

I chose this song because when I found it I was enamored by the sense of chaos and order that it expresses. The glitch is so, so, well done. It's like the bass/synth is my Ne and the glitch is my Ti just analyzing this huge, beautiful, and soulful pattern. It's very digital and analog.. it's subtle and intense. Deep. Complex and simple. Slow. Mournful. Joyful. Serene. Soft. Exacting. A low, more felt than heard [in the right setting], vibration.

Gah. It's ineffable. But this is me.

it's not my favorite song (although it is a good song) but i think it describes my feelings quite well. its called "Weird Side" by Eyedea (Oliver Hart), who i'm convinced is either an INTP or ENTP. unfortunately, the Youtube version cuts off like half way through the last verse, but i also got the lyrics here.

YouTube - Oliver Hart - Weird Side

[Eyedea]
Why they always looking at me, like there's something on my face man
No matter where I go, I'm always feeling out of place
And I know I'm not your regular I got a different taste
Probably 'cause most my life, spent writin' in my basement
I didn't watch the Super Bowl, don't drink alcohol
Don't carry I.D., don't go to the mall
I'm extra argumentative and really good at fast talk
I can't dance or sing but I can rap my ass off
Hey my voice is unique, I'll leave it at that
But what other rapper you know, has the ideas I have
And it ain't like the skin color really is significant
Puts you in a category of part ass part
Idiot but I don't try to fit in
My life's like a novel of science-fiction
My mission is to get into your mind, and make you listen and
Rewind what you were missin', everytime that you insisting to be blind
I paint a picture with the rhyme and climb the instrument
I'll hide behind a picket fence, slash a little wickedness and I
Win at this so you better better me
I always smile in public if I got a lot of energy
Don't go to the doctor, I got my own remedies
Oh and I almost forgot I got a really good memory

[Chorus]
I know a lot of people that'll tell you that they hate me
cause they know I bring out the weird side
Some say I'm a genius others say that I'm crazy
but they all say I'm a little on the weird side
It ain't like I can help it, it's the way I was raised
so I'm living every minute on the weird side
Here's a ticket for the train, pay a visit to my brain
If you wanna know about the weird side
It goes dee-dee-da, dee-dee-da, doo-doo-do, doo-doo-do
Da dee-dee-da, dee-dee-da, doo-doo-do, doo-doo-do

[Eyedea]
I only write with a certain type of pen, chameleon
Switching crummy it's ya intraversin' loud mouths
First thing I do after I buy a CD is open it up
and see if my name's in the shout outs
I read books, I know quantum mechanics
Psychology, philosophy, peyote and acid
I like Jimi Hendrix more than any rap shit
And my favorite movie's Dr. StrangeLove, that's a classic
Never had a fist fight, got knocked out one time
Stupid motherfucker thought peace was a gang sign
Yo I never liked the circus I was too afraid of clowns
20 years in the same city still don't know my way around
And still get lost inside of my thoughts
Sayin dumb jokes just to hear myself talk
Yeah I know my clothes probably need to be washed
But I like em' and if I didn't I would take em' off

It goes dee-dee-da, dee-dee-da, doo-doo-do, doo-doo-do
Da dee-dee-da, dee-dee-da, doo-doo-do, doo-doo-do
Dee-dee-da, dee-dee-da, doo-doo-do, doo-doo-do
Da dee-dee-da, dee-dee-da, doo-doo-do, doo-doo-do

[Eyedea]
I'm not accepted by any certain group or people
I'm a walking talking freak-show and by now you know my steelo
Everybody's weird, you know that's true
I bet you even got a little bit of weirdness in you
My lyrics are due to depression, and an essence impression, unprecedented
Identity, representin' the Midwest I guess I'm just ahead of my time
Blame my pedigree, I'm telling you a tale of the time, embellish the melody
Who are you to say I got a few loose screws?
Do the tools humans use can ever measure my texture
Extra, extra read all about it Eyedea's an extraterrestrial don't let him
touch you or even sit next to you
Hey I dont write, so you're wrong and that makes me right
Song after song, night after night
Gonna spit my words into the mic
And the crowd reacts nice if it's something that they like
Now is that so strange to want the attention
Think I should change man save your suggestions
I swear someday I'm gonna be somebody's hero
But until that day I'm just another fuckin' weirdo

i was kind of feeling that song; normally i don't much care for music like that, but this was kind of nice.

YouTube - GITS Be Human
A wonderful little song about a machine that longs to be human, which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever if you know anything about robotics & AI... not really my theme song but one that I'm very sympathetic to, it makes me think.

YouTube - GITS Living Inside The Shell
A song about introspection and inner wealth, it also touches on existentialism slightly but doesn’t dwell on it; I suppose as a whole it's about how we can't rely on reality to make us happy (for even the very nature of reality is suspect) thus we should learn to love without reason, love life, love existence, love those whom we share this island in the void. A misanthropist is a loveless person who feels lost, alone, and disillusioned; a philanthropist loves everyone either because of some sort of ethics related neurosis or because they realise that in this cold, infinite universe, it's foolish to push away all that we really have, each other.

One doesn’t need to like someone to love them, in this way a philanthropist can love the entire human race and still be cognisant of their often intolerable nature. I realise all this but I'm still the cold, cynical, misanthropic bastard I've always been... you could say I'm lying in a ditch beside the path to enlightenment, broken & bleeding, currently unable to continue on without assistance, but I'm healing, and there's no hurry, I'm only 19 after all.

And I'm getting really good at this "angst" thing :D
...I've been quite candid lately, mocking the masqurage party with a mask that poorly conceals my true self, or perhaps I'm mocking you all and your silly disguises.

This song is pretty much me down to a T, though I like to take the makeup comments as a metaphor for a mask I tend to wear when I try and deal with people in general. I pretty much live a straight edge lifestyle without being straightedge myself.

I have plenty of potential theme songs, but from 1969 or earlier this is perhaps the only suitable one I could find:

YouTube - SILVER APPLES Oscillations & Seagreen Serenades
Oscillations, oscillations
Electronic evocations of sound's reality
Spinning, magnetic fluctuations, waves of wave configurations
That dance between the poles of sound and bind my world to soul
I walk the streets of moment
Head down to the ground
Cars are stars remotely far
My only world is sound
Passersby are worlds that fly
Far from the dance of time
Time whirls round from pole to pole and swirls within the sound
of oscillations, oscillations...

Eat Static - Alien (1992)

YouTube- Eat Static - Alien '92

This song describes me perfectly, because all my life I've felt like an alien amongst humans. I never felt that I was part of the humanity for as long as I can remember. My first memory is when I was around two years old sitting on a stroller and some woman I didn't recognize started talking "baby talk" to me, I remember thinking that this woman is an idiot and wondered why couldn't she talk properly. I also remember seeing some people dance the Lambada around that age....that made me even more alienated from the human species.:D

This kind of view on life has lead into some interesting observations on human nature in genereal and not in actual social alienation. I've always been very curious in how people live their lives.

Pantera - Floods

YouTube- PanterA - Floods

A dead issue, don't wrestle with it, deaf ears are sleeping
A guilty bliss, so inviting (let me in), nailed to the cross

I feel you, relate to you, accuse you
Wash away us all, take us with the floods
Then throughout the night, they were raped and executed
Cold hearted world
Your language unheard of, the vast sound of tuning out
The rash of negativity is seen one sidedly, burn away the day

The nervous, the drifting, the heaving
Wash away us all, take us with the floods
Then throughout the day mankind played with grenades
Cold hearted world
And at night they might bait the pentagram
Extinguishing the sun
Wash away man, take him with the floods

2nd choice would be Lamb of God - Redneck

^ Quality song. Then again, I love Mark Knopfler. Ragpicker's Dream was very good.

Right now I'd have to go with...

YouTube- Bill Callahan All Thoughts Are Prey To Some Beast

The leafless tree looked like a brain
The birds within were all the thoughts and desires within me
Hoppin' around from branch to branch, or snug in their nests listenin' in

An eagle came over the horizon and shook the branches with its sight
The softer thoughts: starlings, finches, and wrens
The softer thoughts, they all took flight

The eagle looked clear through the brain tree, emptying thoughts saved for me
Maybe I'll make this one my home, consolidate the nests of the tiny
Raise a family of might like me

Then something struck him, wings of bone
Sweet desires and soft thoughts were all gone
The eagle shrieked, "I'm alone"

Well it was time to flee the tree
The eagle snuck up on the wind one talon at a time
Being sky king of the sky, what did he have to fear
All thoughts are prey to some beast
All thoughts are prey to some beast

Sweet desire and soft thoughts, return to me
Sweet desire and soft thoughts, return to me

... you have a private theme song?
a theme song is supposed to follow you around everywhere, precede all of your entrances...

you can be honest, no one will make fun of you if it is....

fashion party by ace of base???

around the world by ATC ???

get ready for this by 2unlimited?

be my lover by labouche ?

what about the song at the intro part of grease?

A tossup between A Promise of Snakes, Weighing Souls with Sand, or the Resonance of Goodbye by The Angelic Process

Or The Night by Morphine.

Who says you can only have one theme song?

Certainly different scenes demand different ambiances.

I can't choose between these two:

"Sing Along" by the Blue Man Group

If I sing a song will you sing along
or should I just keep singing right here by myself?

If I tell you I'm strong will you play along
will you see I'm as insecure as anybody else?

If I follow along does it mean I belong
or will I keep on feeling different from everybody else?

YouTube- Blue Man Group (feat Dave Matthews) - Sing Along

"Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" by Burt Bacharach, definitely the version from "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." Actually I love rain.

Raindrops keep falling on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothin' seems to fit
Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling

So I just did me some talkin' to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he' got things done
Sleepin' on the job
Those raindrops are falling on my head they keep falling

But there's one thing I know
The blues he sends to meet me won't defeat me
It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Crying's not for me
Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothing's worrying me.

It's a tossup between
YouTube- Buckethead - Soothsayer

and
]YouTube- Amon Amarth - no fear for the setting sun+lyrics

I'm out of breath
And all my muscles ache
It feels like spikes
With every step I take

My heart beats
It's about to burst
This day my luck
Turned to the worse

There's nowhere to run
Darkness is closing in
I don't fear the setting sun
Or the twilight that it brings
Dark clouds fill the sky
My fate is close at hand
Today is the day that I die
Today I make my final stand

I fought so hard
For taste of victory
The war is lost
But I refuse to kneel

I can't go back now
There is no retreat
I will fight hard for
All that I believe

I'm out of breath
And all my muscles ache
It feels like spikes
With every step I take

I can't go back now
There is no retreat
I will fight 'til death
I make my final charge

I, make my final charge
I; have no fear in heart
I will no longer run
I, do not fear the dark

There's nowhere to run
Darkness is closing in
I don't fear the setting sun
Or the twilight that it brings
Dark clouds fill the sky
My fate is close at hand
Today is the day that I die
Today I make my final stand

New Empires
I’ve been tossing in my sleep, plagued by the things I’ve seen. I see grown men in the streets begging for food to eat. I see a young mom in the church, shunned because her baby has no father. I see a war on the TV that leaves orphans in the streets. And I think to myself, what a world we live in, where people use God’s name to expand their empires. They say it’s just the way it is, that I should just learn to accept it. I beg to differ man. I won’t give in. You villainous men with your treacherous hands have taken away all the meaning in this road you claim to travel in the path of His steps, all the while you’re the shell of a Christian man. So, I won’t tread lightly, I won’t go quietly, I won’t speak softly, I won’t let you get the best of me. This has to end here. This has to end right now. No longer can we wait for things to all work out. Just open up your eyes and look past your front door, your sisters in the streets and your brothers at war. Compassion has been lost in a nation built by greed, but we could be a generation that is truly free. No longer will you answer to a king who wears a crown, but a king who ruled through peace then laid His life down. Rise up, rise up, rise up. Rise up, true Sons of Zion. Rise up, true Sons of Zion. Rise up, true Sons of Zion. Rise up, true Sons of Zion. I will be the change I want to see in the world.

Let it be known that I'm changing my theme song to this:

YouTube - Ludo - Whipped Cream

Why?

BECAUSE I CAN.

And dissonance is awesome.

Also I missed this thread. *sad-face-oh-wait-there's-none*
