Interestingly I think I now know how we learn.
They exist in pathways
Procedural
Monitoring
Reward
The top brain DLPFC and partial lobe is programmed to do sensory motor tasks by a split in the medial prefrontal cortex where the anterior cingulate directs us to not make mistakes. Rules are forwarded from the temporal lobes through the temporal partial junction to the medial PFC.
The reward pathway (medial) stores values or costs of particular actions influenced by the ACC interactions. Inhibiting us from taking wrong actions.
Thinking then is about making decisions about what rewards are most important by the rules the ACC and TPJ have accessed going into the DLPFC from the medial - a sort of gate
-
Internal rule generation and confirmation.
The brain in fact is rewiring itself when we see a rule and combine it with other rules.
It is a balance between different outcomes we learn. Multiple components are connected.
So it's important to know what those rules are for.
To complete higher order tasks.
This then utilizes multi level rewards.
And their modulation.
-
The ACC in a loop is telling us the values of combining rules as the gateway between the medial rewards and dorsal procedural pathways. Telling us what to do and what not to do.
