Im sure there is a huge range of music genre's liked by forum members on this site. So, what songs move you emotionally and put you into that happy place? What do you think it is in particular about the song that elicits such emotion in you?

Perhaps I am alone in this, but I find that although I am (seemingly) void of emotion most of the time, music is the main thing that I am able to "feel". Thoughts/share?

Carlos Santana - Samba Pa Ti (HD) - YouTube

^^^I have no idea what the pictures throughout the video are for.

I think a kiss is what works best. Feelings are delayed with me. I was kissed last night. After I danced. The person even tried to stick the tongue in my mouth. So I broke it off. At the moment I was drunk. But now, while sober I can appreciate it. Was nice. Made me happy, I realise. I suspect the intruder would have wanted more though, dunno/don't care. The kisser was upset and left the dancefloor when I broke it off. So continued dancing, more slow by my self. Trying to tune in on(or out) my emotions. But the kiss was more effective then both the dancing and the music and the alcohol. Weird.

However, this one tends to make me smile.

I like it. It has a good sound to it, but its just missing that "factor" for me personally. I dont know if my songs were encoded at the optimal time in my life, or they are simply masterpieces, but they simply shut my brain down and allow a "flow" to happen.

The thread, for me, is to see what songs in different genre's/different people produce this same effect in other people. So, regardless if I like the song or not, it is interesting to see what people post. For example, Brittney is not exactly my cup of tea, however, I find it interesting that someone would use her music to put them in that place. Keep them coming.

Right, I just thought you'd like it because it was similar to the A Love Supreme album.

I considered deleting the post, as I wasn't sure it was up to standards, but if you found it interesting, then it's okay. There is something special with that song, for pop music. It's not released, just a bonus track on the CD. I don't listen much to it myself, must have been a year since last time. But it's a nice song. Fun text, and a simple but catchy tune. Also has potential for making your own video.

I like EyeSeeColds passenger though. But like Britneys song, the passenger will also tire me. There should probably be a year until I listen to it again.

One of the few songs I can put on repeat is this, played on piano.

Then there is this. Heh, also makes me smile.

HAPPY PLACE
The following few songs generally succeed in making me grin maniacally, not for any particular musical reason, but because of their general upbeat-ness and their ties to various warm and fuzzy memories.

Ludo - Whipped Cream - YouTube

I think I may have linked this sometime before... don't judge me? :D

Ha, some really nostalgic songs so far.

EyeSeeCold: the more and more I listen to the song, the more I like it.

Dark: I dont know how that song makes you happy, I was sad when the game was over.

Dormouse: I never knew the name of the band that sung the first song you posted, but I hear it all of the time.

Crippli:No, dont delete it. This is your thread as much as it is mine.

Darn That Dream - Bill Evans & Jim Hall
Chasing Pirates - Norah Jones I think?

Voyager - Daft Punk
Something About Us - Daft Punk
Nujabes - Winter Lane
Loose Control - Kish Mauve (Fred Falke remix)

I am quite a bit mainstream compared to most people here. Lots of songs here I haven't heard and quite a few I don't even have that type of ear for it. Just so used to whatever I listen to.

Yeah, it's pretty long too, but I'm kind of used to it by now.

with the 'happy place' in mind, this:

blackbird - pure
air - all i need

also, i am not gay, but humorous gay-ish videos like electric six or peaches or turbonego are so relaxing to the persona-ego complex. you can act out all of your vanity without the stress of actually being full of your self (as in making your self believe, that you are being dead serious about it, when there is really no way you could entirely fall for the act)

micronatus - the jag,
loituma - ievas polka,
jolly goods - try

Always makes me happy.

Best song to turn all the way up and just let everything go. Watch a random video of them live and what Thom does is pretty much what I mean by letting go. Kind of like Joe Cocker without the look of a disability.

A thing just rushes through my body with this song and it is like, "Fuck!" The expletive used during sexual experiences. Yeah it's that good. Well maybe. Still it's an awesome song.

I really like some of the artists and songs people shared. I love Pharoah Sanders and Air like some of the other members. I couldn't just think of one song. Way too hard! I'm a musical junkie and listen to all sorts of genres. Old soul/r&b usually puts me in a happy place. Anything by the Temptations. Otis Redding's "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay". And yes, I love hippie music. There's nothing like listening to the Grateful Dead to put me to a happy place. Currently I'm listening to "Eyes of the World."

Matryoshka: sung by Hatsune Miku and Gumi

Meh, I'm too lazy to figure out how to embed the video.

Not my favorite song, but probably my favorite one that really makes me happy when I listen to it.

Music cant change my mood. What i listen to depends entirely on how im feeling at the time, if im feeling sad il listen to sad music and if im angry il listen to hardcore music etc etc
