Hi there,
i'm new to this forum, and as a matter of fact i'm new to any forums, so you people should feel rather privileged that i've chosen to be in the present company :) i was, as i normally continually search from one idea and jump to the other, actually searching online and came by this by chance and having researched the mbti test in detail i've came to the conclusion that i'm either a intj or a intp, and having viewed another forum members identical question i would like to see to explore whether i am a intj or intp, the free online test told me i was a intj but i'm generally skeptical of anything free on it's motives or it's quality, i.e. if its free it cant be good, however my urge of curiosity always gets the better of me :p

would be very happy and interested in your views on the matter, and obviously i know it's harder to access someones mbti from online as opposed to in person, but hopefully you can dissect what ive said or ask my relevant questions

cheers :) age 16, very almost 17

sorry for the formality of my thread, just not used to this and its the easiest way to introduce yourself to new company, i understand i need to give some traits for somone to determine between the two
- i am what you would call a high achiever academically, however even though in my mind i plan out everything perfectly, i'm normally too lazy or lack motivation to do my work or get side-tracked by unimportant things. then at the last minute i rush my homeowrk, always to a fairly good standard however i always put myself through uneccessary pressure to the extent that i think am better at working in tight schedules as it motivates me more to do it
- i can coast in lessons where i feel there is no like minded ppl, or homourless ppl, or if class mates appear ignorant
- constantly over analyse everything and anything, from the most minute detail to world issues, and i gernally have a opinion on everything but willing to listen to many point of views
- take a while to get used to ppl, i do enjoy meeting new ppl its that i need to judge them first, i usually judge ppl negatively first and most of my assumptions are found correct, however i can be a vocal/leader type of friend if in known company
-self-confident in my own ablity in both academia and sports however 'some ppl' consider myself arrogant - which everyone else would say is untrue
- these 'some ppl' tend to be in my opinion jealous of my somewhat modest qualities - often due to their lack of willingness to broaden their minds to other ppls opinions

We have at least 3 threads on this exact topic, and other typological material on the forum. Do give it a read.

No one here can type you based on a limited pool of irrelevant traits.

thank you for replying, i thought that it was going to be ignored, i will check out those other threads, limited pool i agree, however one must consider irrelevant to one is very relevant to another, however alas i agree i was brainstorming what traits to put up and i think they all came out fairly useless

No one here can type you based on a limited pool of irrelevant traits.

Irrelevant? To whom? Surely, to the typer, every trait is relevant.

I'd say first start with dropping your preconception of being INTP or INTJ, being that you may even be other types.

Get a feel for the forum if you like, and read up on those threads Fukyo mentioned. Though I think you will still be confused.

Try these:
http://dissonance.my3gb.com/mbti.html
http://keys2cognition.com/explore.htm

ESC on INTPs:

Creatively contextual

Perspectively aware

Highly introspective / observational /recollective:

Experienced with common archetypes of life / wise

Inclined to agape/charity when psycho-emotionally stable or else misanthropic and depressed

Self-absorbed in perception(reality is generalized from specific events; castle life)

Less inclined to sciences & maths unless the subjects are deeply ingrained.

More inclined to philosophy / metaphysics / economics / history / etc

Not necessarily intelligent(as in IQ) or inventive but aware. Highly knowledgeable, specific and perceptive.

Hard to handle problems / situations that need constant immediate attention. Prefer one large problem far away(easier to think/plan); i.e. procrastination.

Mortal enemies of ESFJs :D
