Beard Vs. Mustache

I have a theory that Introverts tend to show more facial hair than extroverts granted that both are equally capable of growing facial hair with one exception. I think extroverts tend to grow mustaches more than introverts and the opposite can be said for beards. It seems to me that introverts especially coupled with intuition tend to not worry about their appearance as much as extroverts that are sensors as well. Yes it seems to me that the more INTPish a man is the more facial hair that is shown.

I personally do show facial hair but it is neither a full grown beard nor a tiny little mustache that is barely seen. I wear a goatee and a rather thick one at that. I hope this has been an enjoyable read for you as I presume that this thread might very quickly make it into the oubliette section. I just thought I would give this idea a chance and see if anything comes from it.

I'm all about the full beard. I usually rock a well groomed full beard all year for a number of reasons:

• I can
• I have my father's genetics and therefore the lack of a well defined jawline
• I'm a man
• Shaving is too tedious. Trimming is occasional and takes less than 2 minutes.
• It apparently make's me look very trustworthy. Apparently.

In saying that, I'm clean shaven at the moment for the first time in 2 years. But only to thicken my beard a little more when it comes back. Also, I'd forgotten what my face looked like...

Beards are awesome.

I display a full beard. This is from laziness more than anything though. I did recently shave it off, side burns and everything. Will most likely grow it all back but will see

Full beard (14 weeks old). Takes between 8-10 weeks to grow. Must be combed 2-3 times daily. Trim only around the upper lip and sometimes clean up the neckline. Very strong jawline (very similar to <<< the person in my avatar) ... makes for a good beard as well. Grows downward. I love my beard . There is definitely mutual attachment/we are one.

It has soured my relationship with my grandmother however, because at 25 I don't like being greeted at the door of a family dinner with that kind of ESFJ cooing/pawing and thousand questions. (First explain the beard [ hum... K ], then explain every detail of your life)... It brings about unwanted attention but I am a fucking cold blooded ass so it's all good from my pov.

Have not joined a beard forum but I suspect it's full of INT types. I think all of QTs presumptions in the op are downright correct.

Sometimes I comb it backwards for hilarity. I have a good pic of this. Might put it up later.

Mustaches are awful, and make you look like a child molester, unless they're completely over the top and waxed or something. I have a beard- well, goatee specifically, which is around 8 inches long at this point. It's longer than the hair on my head. I don't grow an appreciable amount of hair on the side of my face, so I can't do the full beard without looking terrible.

I understand that everything is connected to everything else to some degree, but this is starting to creep me out. I know you are not me at different coordinates (time included), because I use metric system and can't stand customary ones. Unless you used that for deceiving purposes. Either way, I am usually the one creeping people out, STAPH IT!

I have a circle beard, which is sometimes called a goatee, but more accurately called a Van Dyke. I tend to keep the hair on my chin slightly bushy and shave the neckline and cheeks every three days or so. I think it's a good in-between style. My cheek hair has filled in a bit more over the years, but is not as dense as around my upper lip and chin.

Whenever I have had a beard people often have told me "Jesus Christ, why don't you shave?" I usually ask them why they bother shaving and end up boasting about how much money I've shaved. People can get so worked up it. According to them its a wonder that I've managed to borrow money from banks and still have a job.

Well, i guess i have drank too much tap water or something.
I don't seem to have the genetic or hormonal requirements to grow anything but a mustache and a chin beard.
I'm way past the age of hoping that something might change the situation.
But i would grow the full monty if i had the chance.

Unfortunately not.

The blue areas are where the hair grows sufficiently thick.

Now comes the second problem.
My beard is partially blond and brunette.
The blond parts give the impression of patches in the brunette parts,
which, looks quite frightening in some places when fully grown, to be honest.
Grooming is tedious because of those blonde, hard to see hairs.
It often happens to me that i am badly shaven without realizing it.
That's why i would like to keep the beard.

I think that people who get haircuts for and style their beards tend to look ridiculous, and that introverted socially awkward males often have shity ugly as fuck beards as well. The latter just seem to get their beards because of laziness or to compensate for their lack of manliness kinda like why they are adamant about feminism being a plague and women dissing nice guys for assholes so that they can't be blamed for their own failures.

The former tend to have no taste at all thinking that as long as they "express" themselves they look awesome because they are annoying overbearing extraverted fools. But sometimes they are metaironic N types who just don't give a fuck. In such cases I think their stylized ugly trimmed beards and moustaches are fun!

My girlfriend and I went to the Jamaica outback where there was no electricity. I kept the beard. I cut it shorter in the shower when it gets in my way. Mustache? What do you mean? I'm not going to shave there. If it's merged with the beard, am I supposed to call that a mustache?

I think I fall into the "compensate for their lack of manliness" category in regards to my beard. The rest though, not so much.

Frankly, I think it's easier to stereotype clean shaven men. Apparently 98% of the world's richest men are clean shaven. I wonder how many of those are extroverts?

Too many males on this thread. I'd like to know the female perspective. Stupidly I haven't even asked my wife. I think she is polite about it, but what does she really think?

Do women like men with beards or are they repelled or just tolerant? Does a mustache, not out of the ordinary matter? What does a women think of her own smooth skin when a man has this weird facade? Most all men have penises. That's a given. But a beard? That is optional. What the heck does it mean?

I imagine most biologists would see beards as a trait that has been actively selected for by human women.

Personally, I like short beards. However the cutoff between attractive and unhygienic is rather abrupt, so I imagine it's easier to be clean-shaven.
