I think there is something called STAT, and its used for mature age entry to uni, with separate tests. I don't know much about it but I believe you need to have been out of school for 2 years. Work could be an option, until I can take STAT, it would just feel rather defeating to have that long...

The server could just be hosted with a custom resource pack? Some of the more uncommon block textures could be edited to have a more ominous look to them? If people end up being interested I could give it a shot.
