I can answer this one, a resounding yes.

There's this common perception that AI is a problem to be solved with more processing power, that we simply don't have enough, but don't you find it kind of strange that IBM's attempt strained the resources of a supercomputer while a mere handful of circuits can achieve the same level of intelligence as demonstrated by BEAM robotics?

The real problem is understanding what AI actually is, what feelings actually are, and respecting the fact that we are simply not going to get a perfect simulation of an analogue brain running efficiently on digital hardware, instead the underlying principles of how a neural net processes information need to be translated into a process optimised for a digital environment that will achieve effectively the same result, but that cannot be done unless we understand those underlying principles.
