Compromise

I'm not entirely sure if this post belongs in this sub-forum or not. If anyone thinks it should be moved, that's okay with me. Although I suppose only the Administrator's opinions matter since they are the only ones who can do it.

Oh yes, compromising. I find that I am a bit of a natural in the art of compromise. Whether it be intellectually (as in debate) or socially. I find rigidity of thought to be abhorent. I try to seek commonality and then exploit it. If it's to my advantage, all the better.

Is anyone else like this?

Yes and yes.
In some negotiation classes, they tell you you should start in a strong bargaining position. When your first impulse is compromise you may find yourself going against your own interests and letting others walk over you.

Good point but isn't the art of compromise the ability to eventually get at least some of what you want?
