What are some main differences?
Both of these types seem to share many similarities compared to other types.

The inward thinking about the meanings of things means that the INTP spends a lot of time contemplating the system and logic of their projections upon reality.

This is quite different from the way of Ni, which holds reality as a given to be implemented by the auxiliary, which is Fe. They will therefore not become more and more introspective and questioning of their systems of meaning but will become more and more determined to push their strong inner world into the lives of those around them.

The INTP, because of the negative tendency of introspective deconstruction, will become more and more subsumed by this process, rendering their identity in a more and more mechanistic fashion, but with more and more lubrication as their life development progresses. The INFJ, on the other hand, will at first be at a loss when confronted about the theoretical logic of their social expression, but will have a higher intuitive grasp over social interaction. And they will become evermore precise in the way they present themselves and their ideas.

Not really similar, other than having enough similarity and difference to make a good romantic pairing. Many obvious differences, outward judging (INFJ) versus inward judging (INTP), dominant Feeler (INFJ) versus dominant Thinker (INTP). INFJ's take up social causes which INTP's rarely care anything about. INTP's care about correct theories and 'right living' that INFJ's take for granted. INFJ's are hyper sensitive to anything that might appear to be a criticism. INTP's tend to see everything as improvable, but don't try it on an INFJ, they'll blow up.

I mean they're different enough that it's more useful to look at where they align I think. First is introversion and intuition, that meshes. They both tend to like cultural activities (concerts, museums and such), though the INFJ more so. Neither are joiners (of groups, clubs, etc). Both enjoy talking and analyzing current events, science, the arts and such. Both like having sex with each other. INFJ's tend to obsess about the INTP type, and INTP's bask in the focus that INFJ's have for them. Both struggle with living in the S dominant world. That about covers it.

Both INTPs and INFJs are often insightful and may appear naive at first, but INFJs are generally more willing to help others, while INTPs may make an excuse not to. INTPs may appear cold at first sight, INFJs may appear introverted as INTPs do, but INFJs generally seem to be more friendly than INTPs, especially before you get to know them.
INFJs are usually much more social than INTPs who are social only if they can be intellectually stimulated. This is because INFJs have auxiliary Fe which makes them better at connecting to others and harmony is more of a priority to them than INTPs who have auxillary Ne which prefers to deal with ideas. INTPs can also be stingy because they would prefer everyone work independently.
INFJs are better at future-thinking and are much better than INTPs at sticking with plans and following through. INFJs see things and the world through how things evolve over time and they are naturally more fluid in their thinking.
INTPs are known to throw out beliefs because of one piece of information that makes their theory incorrect. This is because INTPs are better at dealing with the present and their auxiliary Ne makes it better for INTPs to leave things open-ended, so that their dominant Ti can keep learning about the world around them.
INTPs and INFJs are very different as INTPs are much better at logic and INFJs are much better at dealing with emotions.
INFJs are much more accepting of social standards while INTPs tend to enjoy being unconventional.
INTPs have auxiliary Ne which can imagine all sorts of possibilities, and their dominant ti can get frustrated looking for a solution. INTPs have a tendency to be anxious, but INFJs usually are aware that life will work itself out.. Unless life is going terribly for them, then INFJs may fall into depression.

Thanks for this.
