This 100% describes my entire academic career, from where I thrive to where I fail miserably. It's a shame that school systems don't seem to be particularly 'concrete random' learner friendly. If they were, I'd probably be the best student ever.
You should look into the Gregorc learning styles if you've never heard of them. I find that I greatly prefer it to the whole visual, auditory or kinesthetic learning ordeal.
