Expanding thought
Let me start by saying I absolutely cannot multi task. I get very irritated if my thinking gets interrupted or if I'm not given time to think before being interrupted. Also I can't perform multiple tasks without becoming distracted and straying away from what I'm doing all together.
There are two very distinct exceptions to this.
1. Watching t.v while reading things, thinking, or doing hobbies such as editing videos. I do this by recognizing what's happening in the movie in small sections and putting it together without the fluff. Basically most movies are predictable and I predict them and then do something else for a little but and pop back in and pick up a little more. Ironically intend to know what's happening more than others also. I'm often asked who certain characters are or what they are doing etc...
2. Work. I will come up with systems to turn what I'm doing into a process that doesn't take much thought and I'll let my mind wander into my thoughts. So basically I first come up with a efficient system to perform a task and apply it so I can occupy my mind with my thoughts.
Anyone else do this? Does this have to do with my hyper activity? The second example hokds true with many things I do. I create systems for things that are naturally repetitive so I don't have to deal with them. Then I fill the time saved or processing power saved to apply to others things.
