Not used to doing anything remotely social outside of communicating with a select few on Skype, so please excuse my cold demeanor, if I do indeed come off as cold. I'm joining this forum primarily because I am an INTP under the Socionics system of personality classification, and wish to learn more about this type from other people of the same type.

One of the biggest reasons I want to learn more is because I fear that my own personal biases may have cause me to be mistyped. I also fear that MBTI and any variants of it may be flawed systems that do not adequately cover the different variations in human personality. Anyway, it seems I've allowed myself to ramble on too much. I'll just leave it here.

Excuse any errors. I posted this on an iOS mobile device.

MBTI was developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers to assist women in finding their place in the workforce during WWII, and that's it.

It was developed for women of a specific period from a specific culture for the specific purpose of assisting them in finding work that their personalities were suited for which by itself is clearly bullshit because anyone can work anywhere, hence why you would rarely if ever see this in the modern workplace, it was a passing fad.

But hey it gives us something to talk about doesn't it?

Hmmm... I'd say both are flawed because neither are Jung. Which functions do you actually use?

You're aware that socionics is different. This post covers it pretty well.

FWIW I'd see no problem labeling you socionics INTp & MBTI INTJ. I'm cuing in on "cold demeanor," "wish," "I've allowed myself to ramble on too much," "excuse any errors," and your sentence and grammatical structure... and choice of username, assuming you decided to create a "generic" username.

@Cognisant I do agree that MBTI is flawed, which is why I choose to ignore it. I think that Socionics, while still flawed, is much more accurate when it comes to human personality.

@TheHabitatDoctor What I'm sure of is that I am an Irrational (P) type in Socionics. Of everything else, I am unsure. I believe my leading function to be Introverted Intuition. Though, I could easily be incorrect.
