Introspection

Do you consider INTPs to be very introspective? I've always considered myself extremely so, however the shining trait I see in my fellow INTPs is their knack for logic and mathematics, existential insight, and occasionally their ability to express themselves through linguistics- not so much introspection and attention to their inner selves or emotions. However is introspection a trait of yours, and if so how significant is it? If none of you would seem to posess this trait I'd have a relative amount of difficulty affirming this as my type. Do you have ethics, a purpose, and the ability to handle your own emotions well besides with anger?

I don't think introspection is limited to emotions and internal values. Much of my own introspection revolves around trying to explore my mind and it's processes or myself in the context of others.

Have you considered INFP? What you have written seems to have a lot of Fi going on, if you know what I mean.

I'm beginning to consider the fact that I'm an ENFJ with strong logical abiliy, or simply intelligent. I use Fe rather heavily although my Ni is used a great deal. The only thing that bothers me with this typing is the fact the I hardly act J at all. It would probably be one of my least used preferences besides E. But then that doesn't really matter in comparison to the functions, does it?

So with someone describing themselves as introspective, would that be an INFP trait?

The context they use the word in, isn't really how I would use to describe myself though, like Meer said.

I really like INFP's, my cousin is one, I'm really talkative/ and actually funny around them.

Yeah, the four dichotomies are just shorthand for the functions a person prefers. It's a shame that people use these letters to form massive stereotypes.

Using Fe a lot is E and J, but doesn't necessarily make you a gregarious asshole.

I am very introspective (depending on the definition), but it's rarely to gauge my feelings. Finding truth, regardless of my own feelings/biases, is what I strive for.

Kinda the same. I'm constantly evaluating what I think the truth is and such. it's only after I think I have a good understanding of something that I might even consider my emotions.
