Hey Wizards!

So livejournal had a writer's block question:
Have you ever taken a personality test like the Myers-Briggs or Enneagram? If so, did you agree with the results? And what was your type?
I wasn't going to respond, because my LJ friends have heard my rant about MBTI waaaay too much. but I realized I could read other people's public answers.

Your Ne already knows where this leads. I started hunting for potential INTPs. I've been giving responses to any parts they find confusing, and I've been linking them to Paul James' profile: http://www.intp.org/intprofile.html I've also been linking http://www.enotalone.com/article/3783.html extensively.

Things to look for:
-Most INTPs are also Enneagram type 5, so you can keep an eye out for that if you also decide to go recruit.
-A lot of INTPs get mistyped. If you see sarcastic/creative/critical ISTPs then it's probably an INTP.
-INxP are obviously potentially INTP. (Sometimes INTPs test as INFPs because they want to be closer to people, something we severly lack. I've seen an INTP test that way IRL when I was testing him.)
-INTPs are the feistiest about believing the MBTI- they're all so good at criticizing it! It's almost a hallmark of INTPs. :D You all have seen plenty of INTPs-arguing-against-their-type just on this forum.
-There are alot of INTJs, and I also think INTPs test that way b/c they are bothered by their procrastination and want and value the J characteristic, b/c they don't really realize what the P means. Before I understood the MBTI I tested as INTJ a couple times. Also since we're introverts we don't show as strong in the J/P dichotomy.

And even if an INTP has been typed correctly, they often don't understand what INTP is, which is where the Paul James profile comes in.

I've gone through the first 90 people. As more answers come in, this webpage will change, but it's roughly correct. I'm done for the night, but here is the link to where I left off:

I'm also going to post the usernames of the LJers I've replied to. I hope this doesn't sound too big-brother-ish. :D

Phew! Maybe I'm being a zealot, but I'm just hoping I can help some INTPs.

You're going to have a hell of a job finding all the INTPs on livejournal... I wish you luck.
But anyway, thanks for that link to the article - it's very interesting :)

EDIT: okay, so I realise it's more of a book than an article... :o
