Would you say one of the bigger threats to us is actively thinking about the future (especially in completing a task), visualizing what is needed to be done and mentally completing the task in your head to perfection.... then never actually physically doing the required work...

...resulting in what we normally experience, superior mental clarity in what we tasked ourselves to do, yet a result of pure...laziness...or lack of accomplishment.

You put it rather clearly. Our ability to understand makes the prospect of actually going and experiencing the things we claim to understand seem kind of pointless...'cause our primary objective was already fulfilled.

We need to understand, though, that the absence of experience just means that we lose possibilities in other areas of our lives. It means that we have social stress, existential inertia, and lack of appreciation from others. Some INTPs might think that they operate above these life factors, but reading some of their complaints in other forums shows that their lives actually are tangled up in these non-Ti phenomena. All of our lives actually do entail wrestling with every function.

The fun thing is that while creating/using this thread, you all, could have focused on something that brings you closer to these future goals, unless you expected some piece of advice that would make you achieve things easier, or go back on the right tracks, which is partially my motivation behind replying in this kind.

Good observation, Nick. I've had to train myself to limit the scope of my thinking during periods of grunt work. For months I've been working on a longish writing project and discovered that, when I already have a good idea of what I want to convey, I have to trick myself into writing and revising the prose. I do this by not committing butt to chair for more than 5 minutes. "If you hate it get up after the 5 minutes," I tell myself. And it works! The fool sits down, and after a few minutes, he's entrained and will easily continue for 30-60 minutes.

Beyond tricks, I think the key here is understanding that mental models are always wrong and that reality has a great deal in store if we will engage.

I wouldn't call this a trait of our personality types. It is just a wiser thing to value prospecting much more on various fields of human life, since it usually provides more effective way of gaining wisdom generally.

Though many people consider this type of learning, driven by analyzing and modeling from a further distance, a totally speculative knowledge, which usually just brings discomfort and therefore must be bad. They are wrong. There are many reasons why this way of learning is more effective, and even more reliable in many cases per se. Our brain just sucks up illusions from our surroundings and social environment..

On the other hand you must have a significant amount of diverse and intense life experiences for this analyzer machine to ignite and run successfully. There's a golden mean here. The closer you are to it, the greater velocity you gain on the path of wisdom ~ to sound beautiful
