Opinions on a couple tracks we did?

Haven't edited any of it yet, but was considering making some changes to a few sounds. This is just a demo because I wanted to see how it sounded on different speakers. Not the kind of guy to say how to listen to it but headphones are fine and with speakers you can get some interesting acoustics there.

Oh, here's another one we did. Someone sent me some stuff and I promised to remix it. Before I could get to that one there was some other stuff I decided to take a look at, from the same guy. I was working on some other stuff at the time and said, 'hey, maybe we can do something with this here'. This other guy was anxious to hear some stuff so I thought about it. He sent me some stuff and upon listening to a few of it I had a decent one shot idea. We were working on some deadlines and I had to finish up a couple other projects as well and I had just finished experimenting with a certain technique so I figured 'hey why not, i'll give this a go'. I was originally gonna start from scratch but figured this would be easier or more fun. I went through some older tracks, loops, sounds, and drums I had saved up and started messing with it. Someone said he liked and I thought it would do. I didn't want it to go to waste so it seemed like a good use for it. Instead of doing it the other way I slapped the guy's vocals on there in a software afterwards, instead of designing it too much around that. It could have worked both ways but there wasn't enough time to see. Maybe some day with some guys we can remaster or mix it and see how it turns out then. For now, we just have the flat track. It sounded so so and I didn't like it at first because it sounded weird and off kilter but the more I heard it the more normal it came off. I tried to distant myself and heard it on different systems. Then said, 'maybe we can touch it up here and there'. I had some stems someone sent me as acapella for a remix I was interested in, since I had been experimenting with those recently in those days. I took some of it, then slapped it on here and in certain spots to fill it out. Then, the fusion sounded like it worked even though you had all these guys from different cultures doing what is a familiar style to them. Not the best track I heard but it's more like a solid filler track. It sounded boring at first, so that was something that happened years ago and ended up working out. Maybe sometime soon something I'll be interested in is to go back and take some forgotten stuff and find a use for a little side project that might work out better than expected.

Only had time to listen to the first one. I liked it. Where's the vocal sample from? The beat is good. At first I didn't think the beat really matched the vocal flow but it really picked up well as it went along.
