On tests I took online, my P was on average around 90%.
I suffer from extreme procrastination to the point it has become an in-joke within my course community. I am actually the benchmark of
panic city. If ever they think they are behind on their work, they simply think of me and heave a sigh of relief. I still get my work in on time though, but I usually start it at what I call DEFCON 1.
I'm currently on a post-grad teaching course doing an experimental fast-track version of the full time course. Basically you do the same workload as a full time course, but it's 4 months shorter.
However! There has been an issue on this course that has caused absolute chaos. Due to the nature of my course, I require to clock up hours of teaching experience before I can begin my written assignments. As I have only just been accepted into a placement, I've started where the academic year is fizzling out to exams and assignment hand-in dates. This means there are no official lessons being taught.
So... I can only start teaching in September and this has had a knock on effect with the assignments.
Now, we're supposed to graduate in December and in order to do that it means we have to achieve the following within September - November 2013:
- Clock up 100 hours of teaching (these hours are me teaching classes on my own)
- Produce a 30 hour scheme of work
- Keep a journal to evaluate lesson plans and discuss with my personal tutor (some of my journal has to be uploaded and evaluated further)
- Write a minimum of 8 detailed rationals quoting from a minimum of 10 academic works each... (These are for my lessons that will be formally observed by my University Tutor)
- Write 5 academic assignments each with a length of 3,500 words with a minimum of 10 references for each. (I need to reference my lessons on all these assignments)
- Produce 2 portfolios of teaching evidence and self-reflection (this includes all resources I have created along with 100 hours of lesson plans)
So we're practically doing a full-time post-grad course in just over 3 months!
Naturally, there are some on my course that have turned to jelly at the thought of this workload. ^^
I can't say I'm looking forward to September because I feel I will procrastinate regardless...
I doubt they'll be running this experimental fast-track course again.
Also, coffee is a fuel of the gods. I could quite easily drink 10 cups a day. It allows me to zone into my own little world.
