What do you think are the factors in determining the ratios of various mbti types in the population?
Do you know of any geographical area where the ratios are abnormal (e.g. far more intuitives than the one-third that seems to be the ratio worldwide)?

Where do you live?
Do you mean as in individual selection, group selection or either/both?

Assuming genes do have an effect on type (I haven't really researched this yet), I guess I am talking about the overall effect (inclusive fitness as cherry cola calls it). From what I can see, INTPs aren't good at relationships, aren't really the most altruistic and may not be particularly interested in having children, so if genes control type then one should see a decrease in the numbers of certain types.

As opposed to this, the INTP parents thread seems to indicate that quite a few INTPs are born to SJ parents (which indicates that may be genes don't really determine type). On top of all this, we have lots of mistyping going on. End result : its all very confusing.

Are the mbti ratios stable? if so, why?
