I'm not really scared of things (I know hat makes me sound like a twat and I apologise) but I still jump a lot at Slender. The first time I saw him was really sudden and I screamed. I'm a bit desensitized now, though.

Not as scary as Amnesia... Plus Amnesia manages to be both scary as fuck and interesting as hell.

I don't get it.

It's a fps horror game where you get stalked through a dark forest without any means of defending yourself.

I found it pretty frightening. :phear:

Horror films and books rarely get to me, good horror games can quite easily given how immediate they are, and due to the fact the horror is based on your actions/ reactions.

Oh, I looked online but only found that it's a meme, and yet people here were talking about a game.

Which games have you played? I haven't had the chance to play a full horror game, but my favorites are BioShock and I Am Alive. I've also tried Manhunt, FEAR, Resident Evil, and The Darkness.

It was originally a meme. So it's actually a game based on a meme. That's the future for you.

Haha, what is that picture from? Hammer Horror or something? :p

I've played most of those, not The Darkness though. Silent Hill 2 is my favourite horror game by far. I really recommend, a true piece of art. Short to.

Others I've enjoyed recently were Limbo, Amnesia and Fatal Frame (if you like japanese horror, it's like being continually placed against Sadako from The Ring with just a camera to defend yourself. :phear:)

There are downloadables of games based on SlenderMan, which looked interesting even if the graphics were low-end at least for one of them. There's a lot that can be done with ambiance and the idea of something being out there but not knowing exactly what it is or when it will strike.

I love creepy-shit games. I remember when Quake first came out in the 90's, it creeped me out pretty bad. And things have only gotten better since. :D Haven't played FEAR yet, but I should; I love that entire distorted, creepy form of imagery. (I'm a fan of the Ring and the Grudge, etc., and need to finish watching Silent Hill among others. Even movies like Paranormal Activity can exploit that kind of waiting/watching/not knowing what will happen next.)
