Speed Reading

I always find myself getting annoyed because I can't read fast enough to get all the information I want.
2 years back I managed to get my reading speed to 1000wpm with some training, but now it's gone back to around 300-400 as a normal speed. At 1000wpm I obviously had some trouble comprehending everything, but this is also because I didn't do any training concerning comprehension.
Has anyone else tried to learn speed reading? What's your speed and what did you do to get there?

God no. I was (am, when I get chance) an avid reader, but it takes me about 5 minutes to get through two pages, after which I find myself nodding off.

It is a matter of effort and believing in yourself.
