Study: Applied Psychology

I'm thinking about maybe starting a study in Applied Psychology, and I was wondering if that is a good study and later on work area for an INTP. It seems interesting enough, figuring out how people operate and using it to overcome problems. But I'm afraid that maybe the people factor is too high for me.

Now, of course, you can't judge from my perspective, but some personal insights or maybe experiences are much appreciated. If additional info is required, I'll try and give it when asked.

If it's anything like the difference between Sociology (activist-heavy, high unemployment, nonprofit focus) and Applied Sociology (problem-solving/solution-heavy, lower unemployment, larger private sector focus), which appears to be the case, then I think it's likely something that can be suitable for an INTP. I'd expect choosing a specialty within the field to be critical to determining one's work environment and level of interaction with other people, with clinical, industrial, neuro, and possibly forensic psychology to be the best fits.

Otherwise, my usual advice is the typical "Do what you love."
