On the Common App there is a quetion:Have you ever been found responsible for a disciplinary violation at any educational institution you have attended from the 9th grade (or the international equivalent) forward, whether related to academic misconduct or behavioral misconduct, that resulted in your probation, suspension, removal, dismissal, or expulsion from the institution?
I talked to my counselor about this, and he said that he (the school) would attach a letter to the common app forms explaining why I was suspended and how I've grown since then. In the letter, (which he showed me) he explained in vague terms that I made poor social choices.
What happened:
Seniors at my boarding school live in small independent houses.
Myself and two others lived together. One of the kids I lived with had OCD and BIPOLAR. In one of his manic states, he stole the other kid's cellphone and texted girls inappropriate messages(while I was there and didnt tell immediately). We also put metal in the microwave-- a safety hazard. A week later, the kid was expelled for stealing $200 and a laptop. When he left, he stole my headphones as well.
What should I say?
