I joined the site yesterday, and already like it. Unlike at other sites, I can criticize an idea and not offend people. I'm met with a serious counter-post instead. I love that. Though, I may be sarcastic sometimes if something seems silly to me. Try not to take offense, even though I'm making fun of you.

People choose their reactions? Anyways, welcome. I think arrogance is a common trait here....that is, I think.

Maybe, maybe not. I wouldn't make fun of something if it weren't funny, though.

I am of the opinion that humour is in the eye of the beholder.

Well, hello again, SpaceYeti. I look forward to many more intelligent debates and discussions with you and as few ad hominems as possible (though there must one or two simply for good measure).

I too, have a blog. I have posted on it about 6 times, the last time being over three months ago, and only 2 of those posts being useful in any way.

I haven't played video games in forever. Don't intend to do so anytime soon either.

Why not? They're fun. I could understand if you can't afford them, but they're simply fun. And if not video games, there's always TV, movies, books, non-video agmes such as Dungeons and Dragons (my personal favorite) or other pen and paper RPGs, or a tabletop wargame, or simple board games such as Risk, Stratego, Axis and Allies, En Guarde, Scrabble, or whatever. Video games, however, have the added benefit of not requiring a group of people. You can do them by yourself. Or you could even write a story. I mean, not taking advantage of fun things to calm your boredom is your own fault.

Well, I am 17 and have no income. But that is not the point.

I don't know. I used to play a lot of different games on a lot of different systems, a lot. Now most games just bore me. About the only board game I ever play is Chess. I would play Risk but I don't think I know enough people who like it to actually have a good game. Scrabble is good too, though I rarely ever play that as well.

As for TV and movies... well... I pretty much derive no fun at all from other of them. It is simply for wasting my time because I'm too bored to just sit there and I'm too lazy to do something productive. I do watch Jeopardy every day though. One of the only shows worth watching on TV if you ask me. Usually I relieve my boredom by listening to music, conversing with others through the internet, or even walk around.

Video games can be a "dangerous" thing. These days I try not to indulge too much in video gaming, but it seems I can't help myself.. I need my fix. Not as I used to, but still a fair amount. Usually it's whenever a new quality rpg comes out (or the occasional fps) .. think fallout 3, elder scrolls 3; morrowind (didn't like oblivion) and the likes.
Anyways, I think this thread was about a new member? welcome! Oh, and you like ad hominems, ey? Of course you do. I would expect nothing less from a quasi intellectual piece of shit trying to pass himself off as having any original preferential statements whatsoever.

Whats up with this cake thing? What kinda cake are you guys/girls (to be politically correct) talking about?

That candle looks like a wiener. But seriously; There's totally Futurama for the TV, and DVDs of movies that rule, like Hot Tub Time Machine, Team America, Drunken Master, Dumb & Dumber, Galaxy Quest, or whatever.

Rock Band bores you? Tekken? And if you don't know enough people to play fun games with, meet new people. You're still in school, schools are full of people. Just ask people if they're nerds and want to play D&D with you. It works.

lol. Not that I don't enjoy movies at time... but when I'm bored about the last thing I want to do is watch them... I don't know, just personal preference I guess?

I do like some TV shows... Jeopardy (as stated before), Family Guy, a few others. But Jeopardy is the only show I regularly watch. I haven't watched anything other than Jeopardy for probably over two weeks on television, though I have watched one or two movies in the timeframe.

Video games are different. I can truly enjoy video games, but generally in phases. I become addicted to one game, play it until I grow bored of it (often for hours at a time, ignoring sleeping and eating), and then find another game. Ever since Oblivion, I haven't found a new game to direct my attention to.

lol... you don't know my school. I hate everyone there. Literally. I probably like less than 10 people in the whole school at any given time (not including teachers). Most of the people that I do like are excessively odd, and, while also excessively geeky, not geeky enough to play D&D. I don't even play that, or know how to play it, for that matter.

Then learn. The core rule books are about $100. Get four other guys together and learn. My friends are looking into ways to play online, since we've been growing up and forced to move away. You can play with us.

There's no way I'm going to pay fucking $100 for a book with rules to a game which I'm not even sure I would like.

You had four friends in my advice... also, it's three books. Also also, that had a small part to do with why I invited you to play with my group if and when we find a method for allowing it.

OH GAWD... YOU BROUGH UP D&D!

The following is my experience with trying to play D&D, I played a total of 2 games with my friends, both of which turned out completely horrible, please don't judge the game off of my experience, as it was totally me and my groups fault for doing so miserably
Dude, after seeing the writers of Robot Chicken play D&D on youtube, me and four of my friends actually though it looked awesome and so we decided to try and seriously play D&D. And we totally failed...and I mean hard. I mean we were just a couple of jackasses sitting around our rich friends table yelling at each other (because nobody knew the damn rules), our mage kept hiding behind the bushes, those damn kobolds were owning our ass, then our dwarf put graffiti on his shield (Literally, he took his character sheet with his dwarf and wrote on his sheild "Grimgarf hearts teh babes"...though it was kinda funny, BUT STILL:beatyou:) and then we figured out that most of the kobolds were just minions that were supposed to die in one hit, oh god that was so dumb, and then on top of that, when it came to RolePlaying, our DM was too self conscious and had to force all the voices, this ended up with all the guards yelling at us in anger and telling us where to go, as well as the king dude that we were getting the quest from, oh yea, and I kept trying to flirt with every single female that happened to show up (I.E. we ran through the same mission twice...and I hit on the innkeeper both times :D). and we also beat the shit out of this homeless guy because we thought he was supposed to tell us some information...but he was just some dumb homeless guy...and the DM was kind of mad at us for wasting time.

and Im completely serious about all of that...so yea...it was just....bad. but I mean that was just my story of me and my incredulously incapable friends that I felt like sharing, please don't let in deter you from playing or giving the game a try. I mean hell, I still actually want to play the game, me and friends just really need to do everything better...much...much better.

Oh yes, and how could I forget, welcome to the forum :D

Not yet, but my friends are looking for a way to. As soon as they all settle on the software, since they've been doing more looking into it and aren't as busy as I am, I'll follow suit. I'll inform you when that happens.

*is horrified to discover some horrible monster has broken the perimeter*

WTH PBDUDE? You just let the walking carpet wander in and you reacted by talking to it and providing it with cake? *GASP!* You invited the thing in didn't you? Now we'll never get rid of it. You sir, are officially off my team when the Vampire vs. Werewolf wars begin.

*loads gun*

There is really only one way to deal with SpaceYetis...Alright Minuend, you're left handed right? You take the right and I'll take the left.

I kinda used a mind-control ray on him. Sorry. It was necessary to get invited in and then to wreak havoc.
Grr. I knew something didn't feel write when I posted the picture of the cake. (which is, by the way, a lie. Don't pay any attention to it)

Wreak havoc... and eat cake! Cake is a Yeti's favorite food. Too bad there's no SpaceCake.

Edit; Though some of you ladies may think the title applies to me!

who created this sound off for virgin forum goers? like every fourteen minutes another intp comes out of the woodwork. would it be complete anarchy if they seamlessly integrated? maybe the world is not ready for that much liberty.

I just copied some other guy. I figured I'd get some well deserved attention. Then everyone else sounded off. I can't help that I'm so cool that everyone copies me copying people.
