29 years old, INTP, finally makes sense

I've known about personality types for a long time, but never gave them much thought until the last few years, struggling to find my way in life and why nothing really fits.

last 5 years i started dating a wonderful woman who had concerns, said she wondered if something was wrong with me mentally as she listed her observances...i didnt think too much until one day (today) I did another personality test and reading it...i was shocked to find nearly everything she had described and more, things that hadnt clicked until reading it today.

then shortly later i found this forum.

apparently in a INTP with a few INTJ tendencies, and a very strong inclination towards naturalist.

the real thing that stuck out...systems, now i didnt have the same systems interest that were listed in a lot of sights...but...and this is embarassing, DnD. i used to play it a lot with my friends, and its a entire system in itself, the combat system along and character creation system, i would spend entire days doing nothing but, my waking hours would be saturated with it, my scalp would physically tingle. I would be completly obsessed. This has extended to any games systems ive shown interest over the year, a need to learn every facet of every bit of info i can on them until i was a near authority...

so im excited to be here! and it now makes sense why the one class in higschool i accelled at was geology...to the point where i made the most complete final exam writing the teacher had ever seen, taking a full 40 minutes past the teachers alotted time, and asking for several more pieces of paper, i absorbed it like a sponge and remembered almost every detail.

Im 29 now and forced myself to learn to be a server (I can manage almost a full minute of casual conversation with a stranger now before i run out of gas and it gets awkward) and have been in near depression trying to figure out what i want from life as a job.

now i know, my childhood me was right, environmental or natural science of some kind. given im 29 hopefully one i can get in with a bachelors degree :P

lol, she and I can be quite at odds at times but our differences have served to make us stronger in the end i think. I think she just never dealt with someone like me before is all.

... well, not unless you're living next to a Dumpster in the alley and stealing food while bussing tables, which wouldn't be fun...
I spent free time over the last few weeks looking for synergies in high-level Monk Unchained builds to increase DPS.

I agree that when people experience people with a significantly different outlook/approach to life, they need time to adjust and incorporate, and they also will continue to frame them via their own perspective. So I look at long-term results and growth. If your outcome with her has offered an overall benefit for her and for you, then that's a good thing.

it has definitly turned into a overal benefit

rules hound wasnt quite the same as a feeling of being completly consumed by it to the point where you would forgo basic hygiene and nutrition in exchange for referencing and cross referencing and spreadsheets.

If it makes you all feel any better, She also thinks very highly of me, she just felt i had some sort of OCD complex.
