An apology

Dear Forum,

I understand from the moderators that my post on manipulation drew some unintended responses. I actually went to bed shortly after posting it so didn't see any of it.

I certainly did not post it with the intention of causing even more trouble so I just want to unreservedly apologise if I have caused upset and distress to anyone. I am particularly upset to hear that someone was sanctioned as a result - this certainly is not a consequence I wanted.

I may post a clearer explanation of why I posted it - but if I do, I will do that in consultation with the moderators to ensure that I do not inadvertently cause more upset.

Under the circumstances, with the potential to cause even more division, it may be better if people do not respond to this post here. I am happy to receive PMs if people have something to say to me.
