i suppose it was the mother decade of the second (and best) wave of black metal and the begining of scandinavian melodic death. some of the best punk bands were formed and released masterpieces.
and One Foot In The Grave was on (but was it better then Blackadder, 80's. or Fawlty Towers, 70's)
but from what i can remember through retrospectives and clouded memories it was largely sombre and grey. All of the over the top, spangling spandex and flair of the 80's died in place of... well nothing.
