I think I got it, but I followed the path of breadcrumbs that you guys left.
Natural philosopher, thinker, analyst, architect, creator, engineer, wizard. There is a word that connects them all.
The people who asked new questions. They search(ed) for the Truth, key to immortality, the Philosophers stone. From outside their quest for knowledge seemed external, but in the heart it's spiritual. Transmutation of elements is simultaneous with internal transmutation/perfection of oneself.
