I could explain to you to the extreme depths about something I'm interested in and I've been playing with for the last couple of months or years, and to me [and if I do, you nod along and then here I am thinking you're following me at the same speed I'm explaining it to you, then you're lost by the end of the 2nd sentence wondering what I said in the first sentence.] you want to speak about gossip or emotions.

But then again, everything in pleasantries.

Perhaps you would wish to edit your post? If I understand correctly, you are talking about the phenom where an intp wishes to discourse on heavy intellectual topics, while others would rather engage in small talk and useless chit-chat.

Is this correct?

I think its hard to judge the ebbs and flows.

I dig Nick. At work I just pretend. At home I am just irritated. And that's about all the energy for people I have. And so I really have no time for friends. Kinda lonley.

Yeah its a hard switch from 'he sat there immersed in his own world, oblivious to the one around him',
to the 'social daily chitchat, I don't know you on a personal level so I keep it lively but hey that's work'

Friends are a select few but a good group, sticking together as we grow older and different lives branch in different directions. But I don't show interest in many new people.

Yup, work is good, full time school too.
Just stuck in a house right now with family from overseas here till Monday, then I get a whole 10 days of no one, going to be paradise.
