Somewhat amateurish, but still great if you're a fan of the culture.

About a decade ago Francis Ford Coppola predicted that we were entering a time when "A girl from Iowa will be able to do creative films". The technology has gotten so cheap that a person with a DSLR, a computer, some friends and props can do some really neat films. I never was a film person before but now have been getting into it.

Thanks for the link, I think I've seen these guys in another YouTube short where this other budding filmmaker made a short called Camera War, or Lens War or something. Anyhow the soldiers ran around with some big camera lenses.

My favourite of Fred's is Flower Warfare. It's amazing how far he's come from his old videos.

Not a lot (or any) dialog or story line however. He just does a lot of bang-bang action scenes, no matter how good. The YouTube guys that have me coming back are the ones that have a plot and dialog, like AVGN.

Yeah freddiew is mostly action and guns, I like many of the shorts though.

The other guys I mentioned, desertzork, they have more dialogue and they do focus more on plot than pure action but like I said earlier, they're somewhat amateurish . It's more of a cult favorite kind of thing. They might not appeal to everyone but I thought it was worth posting about them(both youtubes).

yuck, they need to learn how to color correct. The fluorescent green is burning my eyes.

You mean western-gaming culture. Asian-Japanese gaming culture is an entirely different world.
