Yeah I go all the time, mostly punk gigs, although my friends started prog operatic rock band that I contribute. They're really fun! If you mean unsigned bands then no not usually, but the bands don't necessary have to be good just energetic because there's nothing really seperating the band from the audience so its... well, the only way to explain it is that it's very intimate. Any other questions :)?

Logos: I know what you mean, you feel closer to the music (well, technically you ARE but still), thanks!
Ady: I'll have a look round for them!

I'm asking mainly because I went to my first gig recently and really enjoyed it. It was Tom Mcrae and I had kind of gone off his music a bit, but after hearing him live I started liking it again. It was a very nice experience!

I'm glad you had a good time, hopefully you went with a good friend or two :).
I'm going to a big concert april 17th to see Between The Buried and Me, which is going to be the biggest one I've ever been to.

I wouldn't say i've been to hundreds of Gigs but i've been to a fair few. My favourite bands i've seen live are Nine Inch Nails, Rush & Mastodon. I don't go to shows for the environment, crowd or anything just for the music so i'm not sure if for example Nine Inch Nails would appeal to many because it was quite a slow, sensitive performance.

I'm personally hoping Tool will show at Sonisphere in the UK this year :)

I like indie pop bands.. Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin was a lot of fun.. and they were so impressed that we (two other friends and myself) actually knew the words to their songs. I just saw Phantogram a month ago and it was super sweet.. I was also incredibly drunk (recommended). The nice thing about listening to obscure indie bands is that you can meet them before or after the show. I like to shake the hands of people I admire, so that's very satisfying for me. Music festivals are where the real live music fun is to be had though. I'd recommend you some, but I have no idea what's offered in England.

Soothing, yeah there music is very hypnotic. Drums always fascinate me and Danny Carey is a master at it, really 'hypnotising' stuff. I'd imagine their performances are awe inspiring.
