I should've clarified I'm an EE student. Currently working IT. I do IT for a large hospital network in OK. Mostly sitting at my desk watching the support email and doing nothing. Redditing, lol.

I guess looking into the future I'd like to travel out of Oklahoma. This state is much too religious/conservative for my tastes.

The 666 would lead one to believe satanism (not bad per se, as evidenced by THD), but that may be an incorrect conclusion.

No, I only see 666 as a number. I'm from a very christian Oklahoma. I kind of find it funny that it offends a lot of people where I'm from.
I consider myself an Atheist

I have grown up in a christian culture, so I know how most of them react to "satanic" symbols, also to atheism in general.

Though they have almost no rational basis for their objections to atheism, I do understand their position.

Over-zealous christians agitate me quite a bit, so the premise is somewhat similar.

Well from my experience they see Atheist and instantly assume "Anti-Christian". Atheist denies all god(s). If you say you're a Christian you're saying you're almost as Atheistic as I am, just minus 1 God (Yahweh).

I am now a Paladin of the Nine Divines, and I condemn you for not believing in them.

^This is what I despise in all religions. The word "God"(Or whatever other mystical deity) can be substituted with any entity, and the message will still stay the same.

"Cheese is the son of Milk, and He has died for our sins."
"There is only one true Elvis, all others are false idols!"

No need for apologies, I agree with you.

Organized religion is disgusting. Spirituality is a bit different. I've met the nicest people that consider themselves "spiritual" rather than "religious".

Was the forum down for a while due to exceeding bandwidth?
