Okay. So, I have noticed that there are a lot of House fans here. Not complaining. The show is brilliant. I was just wondering if House is so popular because we all see a bit of ourselves in him and want to be like him. I have seen him typed as INTJ, ENTP and INTP in a lot of forums. So, what do you think about it?

because we see so much of ourselves in him and did(for some ppl probably still "do") not want to be like him. neither does he. which is just another of those things about ourselves we see in him.

House is obviously not an extrovert, he cancels dates with his girlfriend and best friend to spend time alone. He is profoundly introverted. He is also not a J. He only makes quick desisions when his patient is out of time. He is always trying to make the best decision, not just trying to get the decision made quickly, as a J would. He is obviously an INTP.

House is popular regardless of MBTI.

He's brilliant and the guy everyone turns to in desperate times. So much so that he is given free reign at his job. Funny and quick with a clever quip or insightful insult. He's attractive to the opposite sex but he doesn't commit because of his oh so dark and troubled self. He's what people want to be.

Aside from that, there's generally good writing and dialogue with elements of drama and suspense thrown in (even if it is a bit formulaic).

If I had to guess as to why there are a lot of people on this particular forum (and NTs in general) who like House, it's because it's one of those shows that focuses on the intellectual and analytical (if only to set the background), rather than drama for drama's sake with your standard hunky Gary Stu or pretty Mary Sue.
