I`ve been creeping on you INTPs on my government computer

Tech school student. 19 years of age. INTP. I hate having to interact with everyone here. I always get outcasted simply because i`d rather talk about ideas than the irrelevant melodrama. Perhaps its simply because I have no idea how to interact with normal people? Whatever the case may be hello fellow INTPs. Would you have made the choice I made and joined the USAF? Because i`m still not sure this is the best place for me...since the military doesnt exactly tolerate eccentricity. Not to mention nearly everyone here is a sensing and judging type. Nearly everyone here is extroverted and extremely annoying to me at the very least. But i`m fairly sure this enviroment is polar opposite to help an INTP achieve his true potential.

Welcome and how long have you been in the USAF? I believe, from what other INTPs in the military have posted, that there's a certain period of discomfort to endure before you achieve the necessary competence to make INTP traits work for you or not work against you. Then again, it may depend on how saturated your INTPness is.

Let me say this, knowing how to interact with people doesn't make them less boring, but it makes you more tolerable to them. It is a worthwhile skill to ascertain, but won't bring you fulfillment. Seeking out others with the ability to think and discuss things you find interesting is a better investment, imo.

I think the military is a rough place for an INTP unless you were in strategic command. You would probably find war strategies to be mind absorbing, I know I would!

Thanks Animekitty. You gave me hope. And i`ve been in service since January 25th 2010. Not very long I know but i`ve been in long enough to see some military politics and its much worse then civillian ones.

HA! I dont think i`m and INTJ from Singapore. Perhaps in an alternate reality I am. Although one of my best friends is. Luckily his assigned home station is less than an hours away from mine so I will actually leave the base.

And I can kindve interact with normal people. I just usually get extremely bored so I say something obscene and thats how I get outcasted. I dont exactly care though since my roomate is willing to listen to what I have to say, and he sometimes even adds to my theories which I love.

However my job will be extremely boring. All i do is File records. Its so mundane. That is why im currently questioning whether joining was the right thing-I hate the people im surrounded by-I hate the irrationality of nearly everything we do-I despise the narrow mindedness of half the people here. I hate the constant barrage of "this is right and this is wrong."

"Do what I say, not as I do." that only applies to my MTLs. I have no idea about . I just dislike the hyprocrisy of them.
And thats the end of my rant.
