Kerbal Space Program

Dear Forum,

Let there be Kerbals! In creating and managing my own virtual space program (with a focus on design and piloting) I've found an excellent distraction from my existential angst, along with a good introduction into the theory of space travel at a practical level. The learning curve is moderate, but well worth climbing, with plenty of hidden features available for the advanced user.

This evening, I successfully docked two satellites for the first time. Really makes me appreciate how hard it is to go to space.

KSP is addicting. But for whatever reason I've never been able to successfully perform a moon landing and return. And all attempts at a SSTO spaceplane end in failure.

I've been playing KSP ever since .15, a full year ago, and it's a fabulous game, that just keeps on getting better and better. The KSP forums have some awesome challenges for you to partake in when you get good. Also, check out Scott Manley's YouTube page- he has some excellent tutorials and adventures, with lots of sciency commentary and a Scottish accent.
